Good so it's not just me or my imagination!
I also leave the mirror control set on the passenger side and its easy to rotate the mirror down when pulling beside a curb to park. My ocd doesn't allow my tires to be squished half into the curb!

I'm ordering the ones made for my 2017 Taco. I've been looking for them for a long time. Power, Heated, Turn Signal, Blind Spot Warning

I'm not a fan of the chrome, either. But I checked a while back. They are not available in black or "paint to match." I'm sure that now that I pulled the trigger, they'll be available soon.:)

Make sure you post here when you install them. Take lots of pictures please. I really would like a pair of these but I'll be waiting for the black ones.

I'll try to remember to do it. They came yesterday, but it's 40° in my garage.
I found a good video for removing the mirrors:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDmK_dt2TY0

Does anyone know the torque specs for the 3 mirror nuts?

Snug. Use the three nuts that come off the stock mirrors to install the new mirrors. The stock nuts have a shoulder that aids on locking the nuts down. The aftermarket mirror uses a separate lock washer. Just use a 1/4" ratchet to snug them down. Too tight and you will strip the studs out of the mirrors.

Yes..these are the best. I think they were actually designed by some guys here on the forum. They were ProEFX mirrors. They were a spin off of guys retrofitting dodge ram mirrors to the Tacoma.

Well, I bit the bullet. My garage is almost 1,000 sq.ft., so I hate to heat it unless I really need to. And I don't really need these mirrors till spring when we get the camper out of storage. But I just couldn't stand seeing them just sitting there in my office. It's now done, and pictures will follow.

But here are some important stats: The stock mirrors are 7 ft. even from outside edge to outside edge. The new mirrors are 7 ft. 6 in. in the down position. They are 8 ft. 2 in. in the extended position! The will still fold in, manually. Blind spot warning works in both positions. Heat works and turn signals work. A pleasant surprise is the left-right-up-down controls work correctly in either position. And the chrome looks better than I thought it would.

Support the Door Panel.jpg Don't lose this piece.jpg
Unlike the video, if you support the door panel with 10 ga. wire, you don't have to disconnect anything but the mirror itself. Note there is a small black rubber or plastic thing that might come off with the door panel--don't miss it. (I think I have figured out the photo upload.)

That last one was supposed to be with the mirrors extended.

    That's a legit video.
Sorry I can't help with the torque specs though.
