Yeah, I feel that. I'll stick with 30/25 for a while and see how it goes.

Solo LCA will definitely help a good amount. I feel like SPC UCAs and Solo LCAs is basically the ultimate combo for mid travel IFS.

CBI sliders, ADS extend travel with compression adjuster coil overs, 9” Bilstein 5125 rear shocks, Icon Tubular UCA, Alcan custom leafs, All Pro Apex bumper and skids, NWTI rear diy bumper, 295/70/17 Cooper St Maxxs and nitro 4.88s.
How much built in caster does the spc add at the highest setting. I think my tubular icon has around 2 degrees built into if I remember correctly

Yea although I have seen some images of the SPC arms getting bent and tweaked which makes me question how good of an option they are for actual wheeling.

I would much rather have my tubular total chaos arms for the sake of being much more robust.

Last I called TC, they said a couple of degrees of castor. I'd imagine that all tubular aftermarket UCA's are the same in that department.

All the same in the fact they won’t give you a number, it’s so annoying hahah

well in reality, I'd say that it's safe to say that like 95% of the customers don't care about the castor numbers they give you. They care more about "what size lift it's designed for"

You got me thinking about those solo LCAs, and then next year when I get tires maybe do a 305/70/17?!

Yea and when I talked to them on the phone, they said that they've already had 5 price increases this year with the cost of metal and all and that I should do it sooner than later...
Just gonna suck to fork over $1300 when all said and done....

A 305/70 would be sick, but it's also 1/4" wider so I'm sure the frame rub would suck

Yea I would either need to regear or ideally turbo it. But that kind of fun isn't allowed with all the smog bs.

I'm a wildlife biologist for a water district. Years ago, started off just knowing wildlife such as ecology, identification, and survey methods for species with a focus on endangered species (got the permits needed, etc.). The more I progress, the less I'm in the field. Do a lot of permit acquisition for flood control and pipeline projects, deal with reg agencies, project oversight, etc. I believe in conservation, but am no fucking tree hugger. I fight to prevent constraints on projects and reduce mitigation required by agencies to mitigate impacts to endangered species, waters of the State/US, etc. to be reasonable levels. I basically am a proponent of the contractor and public funds. Also, we manage a lot of mitigation properties set aside to mitigate impacts from big projects, so land management and stewardship. Lastly, some endangered species studies and monitoring to promote their recovery.

I use to be a consultant doing the same thing for varying clients like Caltrans, PG&E, renewable energy companies, etc. However, they dont pay as well and job stability is not there and is reliant on how many clients you have (can change quickly). My current public gig is as stable as is gets with great benefits, but I'll rent forever if I stay here.

I also have a side gig, sole propiertorship with a couple clients and contracts doing wildlife studies. That is just evenings and weekends and extra cash. My network is up here and it is too risky to try to take that fulltime. It is realky truck mod, kid toys, and eating out money.

I'm looking to get with City of LA Power and Water. They got an office in Bishop. Hobbs is helping me keep an eye out. Basically, what i do now, so skills are transferable. Public, so stable, and it would have city pay with foothills living cost (best part besides location). That is the dream. If you got other leads please let me know.

@Hobbs is a great guy to be talking to about LADWP. He gave me some really useful info last year.

I'll run it by my wife and see if she knows of anything. She does air quality stuff. I'll shoot you a PM if she has anything useful to not clog up @betterbuckleup thread.

Maybe we should all do a Sept or Oct Bishop weekend. That way you guys have to drive to me for once. lol

Maybe one day, but I'm in the same boat as @Taco-Obsessed with finding a job first

I'm in for a Bishop trip. Haven't been down in that neck of the woods before.

Had a rad time running the rubicon with some friends @Dan8906 & @Tof-Corey
Ran through the gatekeeper in the dark when we got there and camped out on the slabs the first night.

Basically had the trail to ourselves because it was the same weekend as Jeep Jamboree. Although I don't recommend timing it like we did with an event like that because there was some drama the second day.

It's a rad trail with lot to offer and learn from. Can't wait to run it again.
