Ya it was a blast! Highly recommend checking it out if you can make it out there.

It wasn't too bad with an air compressor, but there will forever still be a bit that I can never get out of the carpet interior of my topper.

    Oooo
    good looking out.
I wish that housing came in the 8.4 variety though. I was looking at that as an option, but it's for an 8 and not the 8.4 sadly....

I think I'm going with a diamond. 8 week lead time which isn't terrible and the price isn't bad.
But the communication back and forth it pretty bad. Like a 1-2 day delay until I hear back from him via email.

So @Squeaky Penguin you were right about the lube with the solo LCA's. No idea why Solo says to use antiseize on the bushings.
It's been squeaking and groaning like a pirate ship lately. Gonna pull em out this weekend a coat them with superlube instead.

Going to give them a call on monday too and ask them more about it because I have a hard time believing that's what they put on their personal trucks too if these are the results I got out of mine. @Dalandser

I'd add grease zerks to them when they're out as well.

I'm trying to avoid the squeaking as much as possible with my LT kit. Everything is getting a good amount of anti-seize and super lube before I bolt everything together. Even got some triflow for the hiems.

A zerk would be adding grease to the outside face of the bushings like you were saying not to do here though...
I personally think it's fine, but curious on if your opinion has changed on that or what.

Yea I recommend against using antiseize as lube on the bushing surfaces :anonymous:
Definitely on all the hardware though.

Might be worth putting some zerks on things like brett was saying for the sake of service down the road. The superlube doesn't last forever from my experience. My whiteline LCA bushings started making a bit of noise only on hot days after a while. Go as heavy as possible on the lube on first install.

That's not the case. There's a gap in between the two bushing halves. If you put the zerk right in the middle, the grease goes in between the sleeve and bushing.

You will need to loose the cam bolts to grease it though, but that's a lot easier than pulling the arm.

I try not to have a poly bushing without a zerk anymore.

Ah fair point. Yea would definitely want to loosen the cam bolts though.

Pulling the LCA's is a pain so I agree in minimizing the need to if possible.

Have you done anything for the front hanger on your alcans as far as a zerk? There's that metal sleeve the bolt runs through so unless you ran an oversized greaseable bolt, I don't see any other way.

I'm definitely not using anti-seize on bushings. Definitely hardware and cam tabs. Everything else is getting a stupid amount of lube.

The MCM kit have had zerks fittings on all joints. Don't know how I feel about the lowers arms having the fittings on the bottom of the arm, but I can always fix that later if it becomes a problem. Skid plate should protect them

Like on the bottom pointing towards the ground with them on the vehicle? That's weird.

I would drill and tap new holes on the back with 90 deg fittings. Then just get some small threaded plugs to go in the ones on the bottom. I would put money on them getting snapped off after like 1 season.
That or you'll be pulling the arms back out later which is always a drag.

Yeah, I'm going to be looking online tonight once I finish up welding everything tonight. Hopefully the local napa has them.

Very tempting, but I need to figure out how the front end will hold together once I get the truck back on the trail.

Idk going on 6 months no squeaking on mine w/ copper anti-seize. Usually if you get particles in the friction surfaces you’re going to hear noise.

You talking about your LT truck that's still being built? or do you have another one with solo stuff on it?

My cams are also crossed up a bit get the alignment to match and how I want it, so I'm sure that's a part of it. I'd imagine if they were flat on the pivot point faces, it might not be as much of an issue.

I'm sure things like this don't help with keeping things lubricated, but it was squeaking before that too

Fuck man. You've got me thinking.....
Thing is that I'm manual hubs right now. I have a set of ADD spindles though I could swap in to make em work......
Between that and my diamond rear housing, shit would be pretty dialed.

I picked up 2 metric variety kits that has 2 metric 6mm 90 degree fittings in it. They had it at autozone and also monument car parts. I'd imagine at Orielly's & napa too probably.

I don't think the front hanger is the cause of much noise as there's not a lot of movement there.

I made my shackle pivots greaseable, but a little hesitant to drill and tap the leaf eyes. It could be done, and would most likely would be fine. In fact, it's probably better than a greaseable, hollow bolt.
