I drilled out the hole on my OME shackles to accept a 3/4in 5in greaseable bolt.
You wouldn't want the bushings to pivot inside the leaf spring though right?

4runner w/ the Solo stock length LCA's and tube uca's - is it only the lowers that are squeaking?

If you get rid of them lmk.

    Gotcha.
Yea I just recently replaced the bushings on my TC UCA's.

I have greased all other suspension pivots on the truck so that's the only one that's left and it's definitely coming from the front end.

Which ones you talking about? The manual hub spindles or the ADD spindles?

If you go through a lot of water then maybe grease is good and threading zerks will obviously increase maintenance access

I've got axles, outer hubs, just missing a set of spindles and inner hubs at this point.

The front end will hold together better with RCVs. Plus we just hit the 25% off threshold

    God damnit.
Guess the combination of anti-seize and the cams being all crossed up didn't fare well for the solo bushings.

Mostly annoyed that I have to pull it all apart and do it again once I get new bushings in.

I also have no idea how to get the lower ball joint to separate from the lower control arm. My pitman arm puller doesn't fit over the solo lca's, so it's looking like I might have to make my own tool or something to pop it off

Wonder if grinding the ends of that puller could make it grab the lower enough to get the lbj out.

Are you alignment cams all out in the rear and all in up front? I’d sacrifice more caster for keeping them in line or at least not fully crossed. On my 4runner I’ve got over 6* only with smaller tires so you should still have good caster and less angle on your bushings with keeping the cams more in line.

Yes, the cams in the passenger side are all crossed up. I have about 4.5 degrees of caster on that side. The driver side is more even. Since the crash the truck was in a while ago, the passenger side has always been a pain to align to match the driver side. That was one of the large reasons I got the solo lca's. Was for more flexibility with my alignments.

But yeah, once I get the new bushings, I'm going to see if I can back it off a bit while maintaining around 3.5 to 4° of caster. That should hopefully help with the bushing lifetime if it's not as crossed up. That along with better lubrication with the super lube.
Awesome thanks. I'll give that a try. I've only ever used a pitman puller, so I wasn't aware of that one. Hopefully it works, given that the castle nut and threads are recessed and protected by that cup in the lower control arm.
