It bugs me that when looking on BF Goodrich's "Find if this tire will fit my vehicle" that the BFG AT T/A ko tires say "Unfortunately, this tire line does not meet your vehicle's specifications."

    What is going on here?

those fitment applications are always based on factory specs...

just like when you go to Costco and they won't sell you an upsized tire...

i once drove my truck with the LT kit to buy 33s, and they told me they couldn't sell me the tires because the tires were not compatible with my make and model. i pointed at the truck, and told them "Do you NOT see how high that truck sits?"

no luck... they wouldn't even do a cash and carry...

I went up to a 31x10.5x15 from 225/75/15 at Costco. They said the only reason they could do this is because some years of Toyotas came stock with 31s. The said normally they don't go past a 5% increase and in my case it was 7%. Normally they go with what the sticker on the door says.

But they sell a LT 265/65/R17 E rating... Exact same size, just LT instead of P and the higher load rating...

    Strange.....
