So I was working on my truck today and noticed that every tire on my truck has dry rot around the tread blocks. I brought my truck to the dealership and the service tech is telling me that he needs my info so BFG can make me an offer on my tires.

Has anyone had this happen to them? I have seen some issues about the rot but haven't read anything about any offers from the manufacturer.

18,107 miles on tires with 8/32 tread depth and dry rot cracking all through the tread on the tires. One tire is starting to seperate. They offered me 75% of new value towards any tires I want.

What's weird is they wanted me to commit to the offer right there on the spot. It's like they know these tires are pieces of shit.

I don't care because I was going to replace them anyway so I figured I made out okay! Today was a good day!

There is a manuf. date code on each tire. Can you share what that is?

The guy I bought my FJ rims from left his tires on there and I was surprised how cracked they were for being 2-ish years old. And these were kept in the garage!

Exact same issue with mine. 2 years old and just under 21000 miles.

I don't have the DOT information off of the tire, but I could probably get it from Discount Tire. The cracking was pretty minor honestly; I was really just having it checked because the dealership is close and I had nothing to do. They were pretty quick to offer me the discount!

Went with some Michelin Defender LTX 265/70/17. They ride nice so far and don't look too bad. I walked away from Discount Tire for $250 for all four tires mounted and balanced with lifetime rotation/balancing and 100% tire replacement road hazard warranty. Got lucky on this one!
