I just got the duratracs and the full tread GY's are noticeably quieter on the freeway than the balding NTGs that were on there. Just enough noise to hear it so you can tell you don't have street tires. Nowhere near annoyingly loud. BTW, mine are the E load 10 ply ones since every 18" size comes in E load and they weigh the same as the regular load NTGs too in the sizes I'm running. NTGs were 285/60/18 (31.5 x 11.5) and the GYDTs are 275/65/18 (32 x 11).

    Ditto.

Mine are not bad at all. They've actually gotten quieter I think, as they were pretty loud when I first got them.

bfg's are overpriced and take a lot of weight to balance out and goodyear's just suck ... had bfg kos kms and now km2s on one vehicle and kos on another and traction is good but not worth the money... have 2 vehicles including my 05 tacoma with nitto terra grapplers .... go with nitto terra, mud, or trail grapplers or toyo mt's

How come duratracs get such bad reviews? I've been researching new tires and I've read alot of bad reviews. mostly that they feel unstable on the highway?

Hey Guys, for all you Sam's Club members, they are offering $60.00 off a set of BFGoodrich's until May 4, thats basically getting the tire install package for free. Just ordered a set of 265/75/16's and the total with tax came out to $810.54. I spoke with a local tire guy a couple weeks ago and it seems that Goodrich is only making the E load rating on the 16 in. tire because that size is getting less common, but he said that you wouldn't have to run 50 psi and to run the recommended psi posted on the truck because that is based on weight of truck-etc. Also his best price on the set was $938.68 otd

Those are on the bigger trucks that have said that I think.
But I think mine are great and handle fine on the highway.
When i was getting mine put on at the shop, I guy there had them and towed a big trailer everywhere and on gravel, and swears they are the best tire he has ever had.

Agreed. I drive highway to work every day and they are just as tight as the BFGs were. No issues here. (265/75/16)

i had the Duratracs in some mud and on some rocks over this past weekend...i must say i'm impressed. they did better than i thought they would. only trouble i had was in a really greasy area that had hard pack underneath where i was sliding a bit...other than that...they did awesome. most of the time, i had to try to get them to break traction. they will take you most anyplace you care to tread from my experience.

I just got my Duratracs mounted.. 265 70 17s ...I must say I am impressed.. they are great in the rain and aren't as noisy as I expected... I ran BFG AT KOs before to and these seem to handle really nice... And IMO they look great! Next is a wheel paint job and then i cant wait to get em in the snow. I say :woot:.... Two thumbs up so far!

That's what I've run on my past two Taco's. Love the tire and never had an issue on or offroad. I thought they were SST, unless I got the thicker ply version

So whats the difference between a "C" rated and "E" rated. Im going 265's. I dont want to worry with them being worn off after 30,000 mi which ones would be better?

    6ply (C) 10ply (E)

unless you do some serious hauling, the C rating should be fine. not sure if the Es will wear any longer or not... the sidewalls are whats beefed up on the E. my thinking is that the Cs are marketed towards midsize trucks, while the Es would be for fullsize to match load carrying capability.

driving style, rotation intervals and propper air pressure are the keys to long tire wear. i don't know what to expect out of the duratrac for milage...if they go 35k i will be happy. the compound seems to be on the soft side compared to my BFG MTs (KM) which i have come to expect 50k plus out of. sucks i won't be able to buy them anymore when the ones i have are bologna. from what i've been seeing, the KM2s don't last as long.

Yea I'm just leery about getting agressive all terrains with as much ad I drive, but they would come in handy for sure. I want a good tire that I can get a lot of miles out of but really want the duratracs. I almost got stuck the other day in almost flat ground on the mud.
