I've used chains on cars, just never any on my trucks with 4wd.. I own a house in washington and have driven in the snow, ice , and over the passes without the use of chains for the last 12 years. Is it just because of senseless drivers and Kids who think they know how to drive in the snow with their awd subies? All of the passes in wash say chains or 4wd required.. Plus thats gotta be an expensive set of chains.? I'm just interested in meeting up with some peeps and having a good time.. But not interested in spending 100 bucks on chains to fit my rig when I'll never use them.

take the 38... the 18 is too congested...

i went snow wheeling last week and the snow was about 12- 18" deep. i was having trouble with 4 low and my duratracs... it was the heavy shit that packs up the tires and it was over my sliders in some spots... i was the first one and i was trail blazing so that could be why...may be easier if the trails are broken

we are supposed to get 6-12" tonight into tomorrow according to BENSWEATHER.com and a winter storm warning is in effect. To go snow wheeling i suggest chains at least on the lead vehicle or itll be slow going... bring tow straps... ill be going as well... where are you going to hit up the trail head?

if you take the 38 we can go down the 18 and start at jacobly canyon road to 3n16

youd make it up the mountain but you wouldnt make it down any trail unless you stayed strapped to the rear of a 4x4 the whole time :p

its snowing pretty good right now... they already have a chain restriction out for all 2wd vehicles, and 4wd without snow rated tires...

We went into Holcomb last Tuesday, tons of people out there. My brother has an 85' Runner, lowered our tire pressure and we had no problem, alot of people were getting stuck, but if you have a way to pump your tires up, lower tire pressure makes a world of difference. There were some great spots up there for mobbing around.

just playing around  , but the mountain trails, the higher up you go the more snow. and they are not maintained. 2wd with chains would be ok as long as your not leading

2wd with chains and locker or lsd will make it... just not as the lead vehicle.

saw a 2wd ford explorer up here last week... as long as he followed the tracks of other trucks he did ok
