Any of my TW brethren been out to Big Cypress?

I went and got a permit yesterday ($50) and drove around for a little bit, only went about half way down one trail as I was by myself, but the trail was pretty good- rocks, lots of bumps/dips and definitely mud.

Sorry, I did have my camera, so no pictures.

Also saw lots of deer and TONS of gators!

If you live in South Florida I highly recommend getting a permit- I have mine and I want someone to wheel with :D

Its in South Florida, between Fort Lauderdale and Naples. The trails are just north of I75 (Alligator Alley), but the access point is almost down by Tamiami Trail.

From where I am in Ft Laudi its about 2 hours from my driveway to the trailhead. From Naples/Ft Myers, probly bout an hour and a half..
If you live too far to commute there and back in a day, there are designated camping areas right by the trails.

As for the year round play, I believe they close for a couple months during the summer, as it gets way too muddy...

    Looks like a big place.
In the next few months when I move further south, I'll be interested in going to check it out.

Im pretty sure that's the place with a minimum tire size isn't it.

Im forget how many miles of trails there are for trucks, but last time out it took us almost 4 hours to do one trail, so yeah its definitely more than a day's worth of wheelin.

Tires have to be at least 10.5 inches wide and at least 31 inches tall iirc.

Im not sure what they measured, but my truck passed the inspection with the stock Rugged Fails. They're lenient on the tire thing. They are very big on not going alone though.

    It's www.fjcruiserFORUMS.com/forums/florida

That's the group I wheel with- good bunch of guys.

Like I said, I think that's the minimum, you probably need larger. And they need to be mud tires. Of you want to go check it out, I'm meeting the fj guys out there Sunday. You're welcome to come out.

Richloam looks to be about 5 hours from fort lauderdale
