Battery is crapping out, dealer is giving me the run around. 2.5 years, 34k miles.

So, what are the largest batteries and I can fit in

    A) stock location with stock tray and hold down?

    B) stock location with aftermarket tray and hold down? Which tray & hold down?

    C) aux location (presuming this is would be passenger side near firewall but open to other ideas)?

    A & B would be starting battery.

I got the CBI tray and hold down. Northstar 31M battery. Not sure it’s the largest that will fit but it should do the trick...

Seems to be a popular set up. How much for each?

    Too few to list.
Dealer should cover it under your bumper to bumper 3yr/36K warranty. My battery gave up after a little over 2 years and under 30K miles and dealership replaced it.

I agree. They do not and I don't have time to fight them on this one. I’ll just be upgrading I think, albeit not an ideal time for me to do it.

It’s only on car and truck batteries, which is why you didn’t see it at first.

Edit: off grid engineering makes various mounts as well for what you need

Hmm... Don't know if you have any Autonation Toyota dealership there but I remember seeing a commercial for them stating batteries "lifetime" warranty on the ones they are selling.

Got it. I wanted a marine one for the extra posts but maybe I’ll skip that for the savings. Can’t even get the 31M to load into my cart on the website anyway...

$200 for a tray?!? I’ll be making mine with carriage bolts and some scrap lol!

2nd gen but shouldn't be any different. Fit in stock tray with stock tie downs.

My battery went South. All the OEM batteries were 129.00. So I opted for the group 27 that came in the 2015 and earlier trucks with the tow package. Had to buy a 27 tray for 30 bucks. Warranty was free. Upgraded battery. 30 dollar tray. Total 30 bucks.

That’s the one I’m talking about but unsure on tray for 3rd gens. For 2nd you don’t. I’ve heard that on 3rd gens you have to worry about the oil filler neck with group 31. May wanna look into that.

I got my battery replaced just shy of the 3 years (35 months) under warranty. I also wanted to upgrade my battery in my truck so i pulled the new replacement from my truck, and installed it in my wifes NX (uses the same 24F battery) since we just missed replacing her battery under the 4 year warranty (50 months). I bought a X2 Power 27F AGM Battery from Batteries Plus with the 20% discount. I also needed to buy a larger battery tray and a longer j-bolt to replace the fixed one. I ground off the fixed j-bolt from the top bracket and painted it with rustoleum paint so i didnt have to buy a new one of that also. Battery cost $359.99-72.00=287.99+tax, battery tray 33.88 and j-bolt 5.24 plus shipping. I had a spare nut for the j-bolt since i had a spare and wasn’t included as a part of the j-bolt from the dealer. The battery tray is the same thin plastic as the orignal one, except larger. Not sure if its worth the $40 (including shipping) that it cost to replace it, but oh well.
