Curious as to what would provide the most benefit from suspension upgrades. If you could only ad premium suspension to the front or rear, which would you do?
Does an upgraded rear shock smooth out the ride more than an upgraded front coil over? thanks.

preference. but if you want your suspension to do what's it's really for, then keep everything more or less in the ballpark of balance. I'd rather have the same cheap shocks on all four corners rather than premium front or rear with the other side sucking. that's horrible to drive... for me.

You should consider saving up to get it both front and rear done at the same time. When customers contact us to have just the front shocks (or just the rear) revalved, we always recommend having them send both be done at the same time. Suspension systems (front and rear) work together for the best ride.

Best ride imho is a custom tuned setup for your application. Then for the rear something like a HD hanger and shock relocate for a 12-14 in smoothie shock.
I’ve have this setup and it’s like butter compared to the old man emu setup I had prior...which it still rode good but I wanted more out of it.

The biggest suspension improvement for me was front and rear sway bars.

I've read from members who raised the front 2" and left the rear stock. Levels the truck, and looks lifted.

thanks for the replies. That helps. I like the idea of having something like King or ADS, but the thought of servicing them intimidated me. Was thinking I could “cheat the system” by putting Bilstein(5160?) up front and a higher end set up in the rear(I can pull the rear shocks pretty easy) Sounds like that is not the way to go.

there are other ways and ideas that can help. one example is Hammer Hangers in the rear. that is one massive upgrade for strength & drive quality both. seriously improves the feel from the rear of the truck.
