I work at honda and three months ago during my lunch i test drove a civic si. long story short i traded in my 08 tacoma 4x4 for it becuase they gave me great deal ( employee price). I went from $475 truck payment to $280 for civic and saving a hell of a lot in gas. Now three months later i kind of regret what i did, I REALLY MISS MY TRUCK! it was hard seeing the new owner drive away in it. I mean im saving more money now than before and the civic is a blast to drive but i have no use for a car and i really miss my truck.. And since then i havent been able to stay off this site or help but stare in awe when i see a clean taco in town lol ( i know im a impulse buyer).. i recently joined the army reserve to help pay for college and im thinking when i get back from basic and AIT im going to get me another one.. hopefully thats if my PO lets me ( wifey). just wanted to vent thanks guys ILL BE BACK TRUST ME

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
... ^^^ .... I would trade in a flash for a V-8 Tacoma IF it is the same size and weight as the Gen-2. ... ... :D

But, I still would not buy a first year model change ever again ... (even Toyota) ... because I was plagued with many problems on my last 3 or 4 -- 1st year model vehicles.

I would wait for the 2nd or 3rd year V-8 Tacoma ... but I am not sure Toyota would ever put a V-8 in the size of the present Tacoma.

is this true? can someone provide a link to this info?

OP----->:smack: for trading for a civic. if you really wanted to save money, you should have bought a used civic by paying all cash. that's another $280 in your bank account every month.

I made a similar move a couple years ago. Have driven a truck for the last 15 years. Had a 03 tacoma I put 200,000 miles on and in 2009, I decided I was tired of driving a truck and opted for a Subaru Forester XT.

The Forester XT is a nice ride and for the first six months, I was thinking, why didn't I do this sooner? But I soon found I missed having a truck too much. It is hard to live with the utility of a truck for so long and then not have it. Most people who do this, eventually go back to the pickup. I know this from experience with freinds and associates. You get tired of something about the truck--mileage, handling, etc..then go for a crossover or car. After six months, you realize you just aren't happy and should have stayed with the truck.

I drove my brother to all of the toyota stealerships to look at tacomas. he feel in love with it. 2 days later i text him and he tells me he is going to wait until gas goes down.....i dont understand him. When gas prices are up is the best time to buy a used truck. used dealerships sell low cuz people wont buy with gas prices being high. Now he says he wants a civic si. the frustration continues.....

I heard the 2015 tacoma will have a jet engine with wings so we can fly. Oh, and heat seeking missiles, but wait for the 2016 model so they can work out the kinks.

We will have to wait until 2016 to get the Supercharger...

I heard twin turbo. I think your info is fishy...

Yeah IDK, they will issue a TSB to fix the issues and then just reproduce the same problems in 2016 until enough people complain to get their model year added to the TSB.

Personally I heard that Toyota is working with DavidK to produce AI-TRAC. It's a lot like A-TRAC, only there is a gang of midgets that jump out of the bed and either dig you out, push you up the hill, or simply sacrifice themselves as traction devices when necessary.

I'm working on a mod that will turn them into a biker gang for protection as we speak...SO EXCITED...

I did a similar move last year. I traded off my Ridgeline for a Civic back in April...drove the Civic through all seasons and really missed my truck. Just over a month ago I traded in the Civic for a Tacoma. Not looking back. Live and learn. Good luck with the Civic. Fine car.

Honda's are great cars. My mom has an 05 Accord with 140k and no problems whatsoever. I also just drove my brothers Civic SI for a week when I was at my dads in Arkansas. Had a 6 speed and that thing would MOVE. I wouldn't mind owning one over my Tacoma.. If it had more headroom.

If it's an automatic sell it, if it has a 6 speed.. keep it.
