When doing thw rear of my first gen, does it matter which shock goes on which side? And boots up or down? I've seen both. Help!

You can install them with boots up or down, doesn't make a difference. Most like boots down to keep debris from accumulating near the seal.

Does anyone know the order of the washers/large rubber grommets for the rear? I assume its washer-grommet-mount-grommet-washer-nut. But my set appears to have different washers... one is rubber lined one is not... whats the order?
    Thanks,

I put 5100 Adjustables on the second setting with 3" Eibach coils and Camburg UCA's in the front with a Pro comp 1.5" AAL and regular 5100's in the rear. Here is what the front looks like all done.

I got all my stuff besides the UCA's from ToyTec.com. I had a 3" spacer lift on the stock shocks and springs in the front that came with the AAL to begin with and decided to switch to all new shocks and springs in the front and when I switched I just left the rear alone since it already had the 5100's and AAL

hey guys just reading through this thread and answered a lot of my own questions.....still have a few though!

I bought my Billy 5100s (4) offline, don't remember the site
I bought my Toytec Coils and my AAL from Toytec....

I don't feel like I have all of the "parts to the puzzle"... I looked on Toytec's installs and shows some small nuts and stuff that doesn't look like factory parts, I just wanted to make sure I had everything before I take my truck apart LOL...

    any help
    ?

Also I looked at Toytec's site and found the front shock/replacement bushing kit looking at ordering those to freshen up all of my parts...isn't that a good idea?

I went with new bushings. Your bushings are most likely worn out. Since everything will be apart it's best to out new bushings in.

hey guys ive got a rc 03 and was wanting to upgrade the shock and run a 265 75 16. Question is i dont want to have to lift it but i also dont want the tire sitting in the well and not have a decent look or clearance either. I can set them to 1.25 and block or add a leaf at 1.5 in the back but will that in turn make my truck "Sky" over the tire or have any other added stresses on my drivetrain? seeing alot of chatter on another thread about shimming the axle due to excessive vibration after the rear was lifted which is exactly what im trying to avoid. any advice would be greatly appriciated

i ordered from wheelers, no boots on front. guess you could get some and add before installing. my mechanic said he called around, would take a week to get in.wasnt that worried about it.
