has anyone had any problem with this set up? i current have bilstein 4600 yellow shock and my friend suggested that i get the top plate spacer instead of the 5100's. I really want the 5100's. What do you think? Thanks

5100s > spacer no matter what. Don't go to said friend for truck advice again lol. I have the 5100s and stock coils because all of my stock suspension parts are all still good and it does great. Did exactly what I needed it to. I got more than enough room to easily clear 33s and the ride is noticeably improved. VERY happy with them for 300 shipped!

5100's! I went all the way up with stock coils fine man. Its stiff as hell but not bad. Honestly though, save some money, buy some ome's or eibach's, and do the coils and shocks at the same time. You'll definitely be happier

I put 30k miles on my billies with stock coils set at 2.5 and I wheeled the shit outta mine with no problems... Only reason I got new coils was cause I added a lot of extra weight skids ,bumpers, and it was too heavy for the stock coils...

The 5100s work by compressing your coil to give you lift. This means your ride will be stiff as the coils are now always under compression and do not have full travel. I have 5100s set in the middle and it looks great and I can get the tires I want in there no worries.
Just remember before doing this lift if you want to sacrifice some ride. Then again if you prefer the stiffer ride go for it. Great shock tho, well preferred over my previous ranchos.

i disagree with your sacrifice ride comment. the stock suspension is pretty mushy, and with the added stiffness it made the ride a bit better and was able to absorb bumps and dips a lot better.

Turning over a really old leaf here, but I'm at the same point it seems you all were just over a year ago. How are they treating you so far? I need new rear shocks, ridding stock other than 31.6" tires... Thinking about 5100's and trying to decide if I should fork over the extra for the front shocks too, looks like i can stay stock coils for now. do I need to do an AAL though? Really looking for 1" lift, not much given I do mostly highway cruising unfortunately. Thanks!

I was going through ranchos like every year!!!! POS. lol! Really glad I got bilsteins. Also I have eibach coils and I reccomend them very much, handles better and rides nicer as compared to my previous oem o/r coils at 2.5.
