    Bump!
    Double Cab Short bed.
    Non TSB.
Trying to get a slight lift while leveling the truck at the same time, do NOT want the truck nose high.

Going to order 5100s all around.
Set the fronts to 1.75" with stock coils.
I will try to get the OEM 4 leaf TSB pack installed Monday, if they won't do it for free, i will order the General Spring 4 leaf pack. (Basically the same as the TSB, slightly more heavy duty).

Will the truck eventually be nose high with the OEM TSB 4 leaf pack with this setup?

Is there anything that i might be missing or will this work just right?
    Thankyou in advance.

Extremely helpful thread guys...............I just bought a 09 DC 4wd LB that already has billsteins and has the TSB rear springs done. If I go to 1.75 on the front Billsteins....with the rear tsb done. I can now run a 32 -11 17 tire on stock rims correct?

I'm actually trying to do something similar - I recently purchased a 2017 ORDC 4x4 and i'm looking to do a 2" lift in the front and a 1" in the rear. The OR comes with bilsteins already but not adjustable so I looked to the 5100's to accomplish the lift in the front. I found some data from bilsteinlifts.com and it looks different from the numbers previously mentioned:

    "Description

Bilstein 0-2″ Lift Front Shocks and 0-1″ Lift Rear Shocks for 2016-2017 Toyota Tacoma

    Part: 24-263108_24-186728

Bilstein B8 5100 Front (Ride Height Adjustable) shock absorbers are designed for trucks and SUV’s with a front OE coilover style suspension. Multiple snap-ring grooves in the body allow for different spring seat positions, providing 0-2 inches of front lift (depending on application). The monotube shock absorbers feature a 46mm digressive piston a with self-adjusting deflective disc valve setting. Bilstein B8 5100 (Ride Height Adjustable) shock absorbers provide increased wheel travel and improved handling. Utilizing a B8 5100 (Ride Height Adjustable) shock absorber is the easiest way to level out your vehicle.

    Settings:

    1st clip = 0″ (stock)
    2nd clip = 0.65″
    3rd clip = 1.1″
    4th clip = 1.55″
    5th clip = 2″ (5th notch not recommended for 4×4 V6/4cyl Access Cab or 4×2 V6 Double Cab 6′ bed)"

Is this because they're relating it to a 2017?

I will be re-using the OEM coil on the front 5100's so I would definitely like to know how to get the desired 2" front lift.

Ok, I've read through all 13 pages of this and I have some questions about my setup. I have a 2012 DCSB TRDOR and the spring pack that is installed only has 3 leafs. It was my understanding that the TSB springs (4 leafs) were already installed on the 2012 models but mine shows a manufacture date of 09/11 so maybe it fell into a weird group that didn't. Aside from all that, what I'm trying to determine is whether putting a Wheeler 1.5 AAL in the rear with 5100s all around and at 1.75 in the front will provide a level look or a raked look.

FYI, per my measurements, the back currently sits only about 1.25" higher than that front but the eye test sure looks level.

    So, to sum up:
Question 1: Are the TSB springs supposed to have 3 leafs or 4?

Question 2: Which leaf pack do I have installed on my truck (TSB or non-TSB)?

Question 3: Will a 1.5 AAL and 5100 set at 1.75 provide a level or raked truck?

1.75 was about level with my 2013's 4 leaf pack, maybe a hair high up front. I didnt like it and didnt like anytime i added anything to the back, it looked dumb. I added a set of Firestone Ride Rite air bags to the back and i bump it up a hair with those. Also nice to be able to level it back out with a load. Love them.

I have Duratrac's 265/70R17, which i believe are 31.5". There was some slight rubbing on the mud flaps, tiny one and big one, on front passenger tire. I removed them and no issue's. They looked ridiculous anyway.

1: My 2013 has 4, but first one is a little tiny one you have to almost climb underneath to see, if i remember right.

2: Believe 4 leaf is TSB pack.

3: Think it really depends on the truck, everyone said i should be about level or slightly raked and probably was. Just looked nose high to me. I even have the added weight of a US Offroad Bumper and a winch. Airbags were the answer to my problem, just can't go over 1" with them, before you run out the 5100, unless you get the longer one. I add about .5 to .75" and it looks good.

    - There is no Technical Service Bulletin on 2012+ leaf springs.

    - 2012 came with either 3 and 4 leafs. I dont think anyone every figured how the Rhyme or reason to it. I think it had to do with towing package or not. It doesnt matter if you have 3 or 4, you need to be concerned with clearance.

    - Measure your center hub to fender , front and back The difference should be 2 inches. That is your baseline. Do the math. If you ONLY raise the front 1.75, you should be level. If you add the 1.5" AAL and 1.75 on the front, you will have a 1.25-1.50 Rake (Your driver/passenger sides are not going to be equal, because of the weight of the battery and gas tank) You wont notice a 1/4" difference.

Mine had the slight taco lean, but wasnt worth messing with to address, to me anyway. My "1.75" also was a bit over that when all said and done. Think it has settled back down some, it was fairly new at the time.

HAHA, yeah for sure, I know that there isn't a TSB for the 2012, I was just referring to the springs that are supposed to be standard on the 2012 truck as TSB the way I've seen them referred to throughout the forum and thread. Thanks for the info tho, I wasn't aware that there were discrepancies in the leafs that were supplied which is where my confusion came from on this issue. I was thinking because of the 09/11 manufacture date that maybe mine had inadvertently received the old spring set instead of getting the new, standard option. Oddly enough, I do have the towing package which would make me think I'd have the 4 leafs instead of 3 but like you said, no rhyme or reason to it.

To touch on your last bullet....the difference for me from the front to the back is only 1.25 inches, not a full 2 like you stated. This is primarily why I was asking about the 3 leaf/4 leaf difference and was curious if I'd have some sort of case against Toyota that they owe me the "TSB" springs instead of what I have on my truck. Again, I know that there isn't a TSB for this particular year, but they've been known to make mistakes and I'm wondering if my situation was one of them. In the end, math is math and I'll lift accordingly.

    Thanks for the response!

I know this thread has been dead for awhile but i didn't want to start a new one.

I am going with 5100s all around with the fronts set at 1.75" in the front and potentially nothing in the back. Is this going to get me close to level?

What if i added something like this? http://4x4.fatbobsgarage.com/toyota...t-kit-tsb-springs-2wd4wd-1995-2017-p8024.aspx

What about a simple 1" block?

If i were to add something in the rear i have to keep it under $100.

Keep in mind this is for looks, i rarely if ever go off-road, just some trails during hunting season.

You should be close to level if you set the fronts at 1.75 but might be just a hair up in the front but just barely. If you add one inch in the rear you should keep a rake more like the factory rake. I would suggest using helper springs instead a block but thats just me.

id personally like to not use anything in the back if i can just use the 5100s all around and be close to level. I only want to use something in the rear if it would be really noticeable.

I have my truck like this and its fine. Id say go for it without anything in the rear and if you dont like how it sits then you can add something in the rear later.

If you don’t want to mess with the stock leaf pack, set the front 5100’s to .85. Anything more than that (in my opinion) will give you the nose high look. Especially if you haul anything. The ride will also be better and less harsh. If you are set on the 1.75 setting, than add an aal. A block would work too. Both will eventually fatigue the stock springs. The stock leafs suck.
