They hold up fine. However I will change them this week after work. I was always wondering why when set at stock ht, the truck was still an 1" higher than stock. The instructions are a bit vague. Or, the hollow spot between my ears had an echo. At least with this spring compressing session, the spring commpressor will pay for itself.

Do the 5100's make the truck ride better ? how much is the cost for 4, my '06 rides rough to me, and how much lift did you get ???

The kit you've gone with sounds like what I'm leaning towards. Would you mind commenting on a few questions?

    - What you have in the front of your truck is an adjustable coilover kit (set to 1.75") that includes the Bilstein 5100 front shocks. Is this correct?
    - You had the factory TSB installed which added the fourth leaf to the rear. You also added the Bilstein 5100 rear shocks. Is this correct?
    - The Bilstein 5100 front and rear shocks are an upgrade over the factory OE TRD Off-Road and TRD Sport shocks? Is this right?
    - You did not say anything about a differential drop kit so I thinking is was not necessary with only 1.75" of lift in the front. Is this right?
    - Last question, after the install you did not have any problems getting the alignment back to factory setting. Is this correct?

Your truck looks great and answering the above questions would sure help me either pull the trigger or avoid a lot of heartache. Thanks in advance.

saf023, see my resopnse (CAPS below) to your questions. Good luck
    - What you have in the front of your truck is an adjustable coilover kit (set to 1.75") that includes the Bilstein 5100 front shocks. Is this correct? NO COIL OVER KIT, JUST THE BILSTIENS WHICH ARE FRONT ADJUSTABLE AND HAVE 4 SETTINGS. SET MINE ON THE 3RD FOR A 1.75" LIFT
    - You had the factory TSB installed which added the fourth leaf to the rear. You also added the Bilstein 5100 rear shocks. Is this correct? YES, DEALER DID THE TSB. WENT W/ 5100 IN REAR FOR IMPROVED RIDE
    - The Bilstein 5100 front and rear shocks are an upgrade over the factory OE TRD Off-Road and TRD Sport shocks? Is this right? YES AND THE OE ARE NOT FRONT ADJUSTABLE.
    - You did not say anything about a differential drop kit so I thinking is was not necessary with only 1.75" of lift in the front. Is this right? CORRECT, NO NEED FOR FRONT DIFF DROP UNLESS YOU GO GREATER THAN 2.5" OF LIFT
    - Last question, after the install you did not have any problems getting the alignment back to factory setting. Is this correct? NO, BUT AN ALLIGNMENT IS A MUST AFTER THE INSTALL.

Tires fit fine and no need to trim. Removed front mud flap as one broke loose while climbing some snow mounds. May reinstall trimmed mud flaps in the summer as again, there is plenty of room with the 265/75'-16's

scully, I lied, one more question. So if you are just adding the adjustable Bilsteins you are using factory springs. Would the reason for someone to replace the front factory spings be to lift more than 1.75"?

When you were doing your research, was the reason for trying the Bilsteins without the upgrading the springs cost?

If you use lift springs it's highly recommended that you NOT set the Bilsteins above 0.85". Most people seem to go with the OME or Eibach springs and the 0.00" factory height setting on the Bilsteins. If you're going that route, it's also highly recommended to get the OME shocks and springs because the valving in the shock damper is specifically designed to go with the OME springs.

As xodeuce mentioned, it is only recommended to set the bili's at 0.00 if using an aftermarket spring. I considered it, but didn't see any advantages, plus its more $$$. If your looking for more height, set bili's at 2.5", although you have more chances for allignment and vibe issues.

Well, thanks to the photo with the upside down spring perch, I just got done correcting the mistake. I paid someone to put them together when I first got them because I did not have a strong spring compressor. Now I do thanks to craigslist. Mistake fixed. I put at the stock Hieght for now. I want to see how it works with the plow. I just read about the stock setting only for aftermarket lift springs. HMMMMM.
    Thanks for the picture Scully.

Simon2150, you are correct and thanks for showing it more clearly with the red circle. It's easy to make this mistake and hopefully these pictures will help prevent for those who are looking to install themselves (or have someone else do it).
