I actually wasn't going at all this with the idea of a lift in mind.

I was just doing it to improve my shocks, with I figure are probably due for replacement.

The lift is just a good side effect.

But If/when I do the 5100's, I'm going to be doing the AAL as well, so I'll be able to get that 1.75 setting.

What's the expected lifespan on the stock shocks?

Hey, sorry, I never saw your post.

    I'm near Ukiah.

EDIT: Looks like I'm 3 hours from Pollock Pines.

Yep, too far. Probably more than 3 hours. It used to take us about 5 hours to get to Fort Bragg.

So did you ever get this done?

    I haven't yet.

I was waiting for Downsouth Motorsports to get the 5100's in stock.

They seem to have them though, so I placed an order yesterday.

I'm ordering the Toytec AAL today.

you do not need new UCA's when set at 2.5''. All alignment specs will be within suitable parameters, though not perfect you wont notice anything.

Here's the same set up, but with TSB and no topper for comparison.

Got my Bilsteins and the AAL in. They both arrived extremely quick.

I'm gonna go check around tomorrow to see who will install it for me.

On another note, I got passed by a lifted nice 4WD Tacoma today, and got flashed the "T" sign. I imagine it was for "Tacoma".

    It was kind of funny...

^No, stock Bilstein's are not height adjustable and they are not 5100's,.

Went and found the place to get them installed. Apparently this place does a lot of lifts, and was recomended to me by an avid tacoma 4-wheeler guy.

The guy didn't quite understand how the front shocks were going to give the truck lift, and I don't know enough to explain it.

Apparently he's used to the coils being the ones to lift it or something?

Anyway, I didn't really understand what he was talking about, but I'm pretty sure these guys know their stuff.

It'll probably be a week or 2 till I can get it all installed, but I'll update when I do.
