    I want to get some Biltstein 5100's for my Prerunner. Is there anything I need to ask for when I purchase them or just ask for the 5100's? Are there different versions/models, etc?

    I will be getting these to level the front. I have read that setting the front at 1.75 should do the trick.

    With us all you have to do is say you want the Bilsteins for the 2nd gen. Now I do have some 2wd customers who see a little bit more lift from each of the notch settings then what they spec out at.

    I beat the living shit out of my shocks. Lots of washboard and potholes around here. 5100s have been serving me well.

    Yeah I love me 5100s, no complaints at all.

    The next question, who has out OME coils on those Monroe shocks? I don't see that being a very popular option. But hey if it works and they are a comparable shock :notsure:

    Not sure what you mean by "simulate" OME coils come in different lengths, and 2 separate spring rates. I'm more curious if anyone has done it. I'm assuming it's possible, but I don't like being a guinea pig lol

    OEM spring rates are progressive, OME spring rates are linear and do not offer the cushy stock street ride. Equal preload on an OEM spring to attain a set ride height will generate a much more harsh compression than the same preload ride height from a linear spring rate. Linear springs absorb compression much more quickly with less travel than progressive, which makes them feel "stiffer." Progressive have a large cushy zone that can handle street conditions, but stiffen exponentially harder than linear as they reach full compression.

    Valving is everything. 5100s are valved for on and off road performance, as well as higher than stock spring rates. They also have much better travel than stock shocks when paired with high quality suspension components.

    Not dissing Monroe, but they're not one of the brands that come to mind when one thinks of high performance aftermarket shock absorbers.
