    Interesting.

    5100's actually have more travel available vs 6112's!

    5100=
    collapsed = 17.03
    extended = 22.56
    travel = 5.53

    6112
    collapsed = 17.67
    extended = 22.5
    travel = 4.83

    This then begs the question, If the TRD PRO / Baja OEM kits use the same shock design as the 6112's. And can get away with shorter front bumpstops, does that mean 5100's could do the same and get some extra uptravel as well?
    (as seen here https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/baja-tx-pro-kit-icon-aal.385619/#post-10573347)

    HMMMMM.... i might have to pull the dust boot and coil off one side of my truck and cycle the suspension to see how close the shock gets to bottoming when it hits bump.

    Still trying to figure this out between the two models of the 6112's, 46-241627 vs 47-309975.

    Became interested after I realized that there was a length difference between the older and newer models of the rear 5160's, ~.43" different. Enough for them to advertise compatibility with a 1.5" lift for the new model vs a 2" lift for the older model. I actually have the old version of the rear 5160's but the new model of the front 6112's. Couldn't help but think that if they reduced the travel in the newer model of the 5160's did they also reduced in the travel in newer model of the 6112's?

    I put together some data to show what I know so far but would be awesome if someone could fill in these numbers. Wish I would have measured mine before I installed them but I just assumed that they would be the exact same as the 5100's for the front which add an extra .56" over stock. However it's looking like they might be the same or shorter than the 6112's which subtract .11" in the front compared to stock, totally negligible but can't help but wonder why they would shorten the travel to any degree. Probably to avoid UCA contact with stock UCA's...

    Anyway compared to the rear what I have is that the 5100's for the rear are .11" shorter than stock while the new first edition of the 5160's are .92" longer than stock while the second edition are .49" longer than stock but .43" shorter than its predecessor... I don't really understand their reasoning but numbers are numbers. Here is what I have.

    Found it in a 4 runner thread, same part number though, according to https://sleeoffroad.com/products/47-309975/

    Bilstein 6112
    Model 2 #47-309975
    Collapsed - 11.48”
    Extended - 17.35”
    Travel - 5.87

    If this numbers are true I am stoked, seems like I got lucky and nabbed the models with the longest travel. Sweet! That means though that they made the current 6150/5160 models to be longer travel in the front and shorter in the rear while the first editions were longer in the back shorter in the front. I'll double check these numbers when I have time to break into the suspension again. Might not get a chance until the fall. Now that even thought difference between the collared length and compressed length is 5.87 if the extended length is really only 17.35 vs 22.5 that can't be correct. Sorry false alarm...
