    Spoke with Headstrong Offroad, and they told me the 6112s can not handle a 700# spring? I know there are plenty of people running the 700# springs to compensate for bumper, winch, armour, etc...

    Not sure how they would not be able to handle 700 springs, most people I saw running 700 was 3rd gena tho. The 5/5 is the top setting and most agree not to go that high.

    The UCA is begging you to go down a notch or so lol.

    Yep, got an appointment ready, going down a few notches actually, lol, there doesn't seem to be much info on the 6112s with the 700# springs, so I'm unsure of which clip setting to go to. So I'm basically just going to guess :fingerscrossed::notsure:

    Are these basically a heavy duty 5100? Does the ride get worse as you go up notches?

    Like any other setup the higher you go up you sacrifice ride and comfort. But yea you can say it’s a 5100 on steroids. 60mm piston like the other big brands.

    Ok thanks, seems like most websites don't list much info on them. Is bottom setting stock height? Are coils Interchangeable on them like a 5100 and the ome coils?

    i'm on the 5th notch and I don't think it rides bad at all. Much better than stock, not stiff or harsh. I contemplated for a long time on 4th or 5th notch, decided 5th as I wanted the higher lift. Right now i'm still on factory uca's too, but hope this weekend to install my jba's

    I don't believe OME coils will work on the 6112s, the 6112 is a 2.5" OD shock while the 5100 is 1.75" I believe. You need a 3" ID coil for the 6112s, I think the OME coils are only 2.5" ID. So theoretically, any 3.0" ID coil should work on the 6112, as long as its the proper length and spring rate. But I could be completely wrong, lol

    Correct, OME coils won't work with the 6112's

    Ok thanks I didn't think the ome coils would work on them, just using them as a example. Thanks guys

    Has the front settled much from the 3.25” you got initially?

    With my 6112s and 700# springs? I got 4.5" lift DS and 5.5" PS, at the 5th clip setting, and it hasn't settled AT ALL! Lol. Have had them on for about 6 months, I'm taking it in to get them lowered down

    Has your front settled at all or are you still up at 3.25”?

    Did you have a projection as to what the 700# spring was going to give you? It sounds like you weren’t expecting that much...

    I was told by Wheelers that setting them at the 5th clip setting would give about a 3" lift, maybe slightly more but it would settle and be around 2.5" or 3". But 5" is way to much and its putting my CVs and UCAs at very high angles, not to mention I have very little down travel. Someone suggested I just put in a differential drop kit and buy some new aftermarket UCAs, I suppose that could work, but it wouldn't help my down travel I wouldn't think.

    So throughout reading the past couple of pages, I have a couple of questions. I have 6112's on the fourth notch in a sec gen dclb right now and have a 2.15 inch lift in the front. They are the original coils that come with them, assuming they are 600's. I have a sos streamline bumper on order and three skids coming as well, the ifs, the mid, and the trans. My question is, how much is this weight going to effect the lift I have now? Should I upgrade to a 650 coil on the 6112's or just try to move up to the fifth notch? If @HeadStrong Off-Road recommended not to put 700's on a 6112 is the 650 ok to out on? And if it is ok, is there a direct link that I can pick up a 650? I do eventually want to move to 285's but have 265's on it now. I also have jba uca's.

    bd-trd.jpg

    Just finished up the 3rd gen Bilstein 6112/5160 install with Deaver AAL in the rear.

    Lift specs before:

    FL=20 3/4
    FR= 20 3/4
    RL= 21 1/4
    RR= 21 1/2

    After:

    FL= 23 1/2
    FR= 23 1/2
    RL= 23 3/4
    RR= 23 1/2

    So pretty much 2 3/4 inches in the front on the 6/5 setting and 2" in the rear with the AAL.

    Does this seem normal I assume it with settle down a bit as the kit was only supposed to net 2" max.

    Surprised your cv angles haven’t gave out at 5” lol

    I have these in 650 and haven’t had a problem. Not sure why a 700 wouldn’t work as many are many running them. If your going full steel front bumper and a winch and other accessories up front I would get 700lb. 650 does great for me with Southern style off-roading slimline bumper and rock sliders. Stock coil on the 6112 dropped me the moment I added the bumper.

    Good luck.
    Is this on the street or off-roading opinion? Just curious.

    It will settle and will settle more and faster if you added armor etc up front. It will bring you down to the advertised 2”
