That is a lot of weight. Do you happen to know how much the AAL boost the capacity by? I am just curious.

I actually think I could get the front clips down without much effort. Will have to be cautious of course but I may be able to do it without taking them off the truck. That is my hope.

I don't.....have been reading a bunch and it seems like I'll need the extra carrying capacity. I plan to do the Dakars first and see how things are. If they seem to handle the weight, I'llleave them...if not then AAL it is.

I think Crom has an AAL in his Dakar pack. You may be able to get some info from him.

First pic was after install and driving, but before the alignment. I have a 3/8" spacer so it's pretty much dead level from side to side.

I was just kind of basing my surprise on most people saying #3 netted about 2" of lift on most rigs, whereas mine has netted closer to 1.5" after some road/trail time. Maybe it was because they were installing the 6112's on trucks that already had worn-out or saggy suspension. I added mine at <15,000miles so my OEM Bilsteins were barely even broken in yet. I'm not complaining, but just surprised. Like I said, I'll probably bump them up to #4 when I decide to do the 1.5" AAL to the rear, otherwise I'll be back at factory rake.

In all honesty, it looks like Bilstein's chart is more accurate than it originally appeared:

The New 6112's are supposed to have 9 rings for the taco lean designed with better rebound for 3rd gens. They are having the first run this week and should be in stores later this month. I wonder what the ride height will be with all those rings. I want the 6112's really bad but this close to a new one made me wait. I am sure I would have been fine with the 2nd gen ones but I think not having to add a spacer will be great

Can I ask where you heard about these "new" 6112's with the additional clip-slots?

I'm in the same boat. 4th notch with Dakars was perfect for me.

I called bilstein to ask about the 6112 and 5160 set up and how it would work for the 3rd gen, several sales reps and tech people told me about the new updated version for the 3rd gen. I was going to order the 6112 but after talking with them I decided to wait to get the one make for the 3rd gen

Thanks for those videos. I think I'm settling on 6112/5160 with Dakars. Will go 5th notch with my Apex bumper and I always have some weight in the back with a canopy and 50% of the time a sleeping platform and up to 4 kayaks on the roof.

Its either Dakars or Ironman rear springs as I can get them for about half the price of the Dakars localy.

Mine also settled close to the spec on 4th setting. After install I around 2.6" of lift, and within a week it's closer to 2.25" now. I really like how the shocks ride, did great off roading today. I paired it with 5100 and AAL in the back.

That looks sketchy as fuck. Don't think I would use rope to reset mine.
    Was thinking rented spring compressor.

^ No not really. The rope is not holding the compression of the spring. No way it would hold. Its just holding the weight of the spring. But yea using the spring compressors (if you can do that) maybe you wouldn't have to go through all the steps of lowering the LCA. Give it a go and post. It would be nice if you could do that.

Hmmm yea in theory you just need to get some "HD" clamps or compressors on the spring while the vehicle is sitting on the ground. Then when you raise the vehicle the spring stays compressed thereby exposing the clip as long as the spring is held up! Let us know how that goes  That would be scary working under the spring though
