It’s a flawed design from Toyota and they know it is. There’s a TSB to fix it if it happens but dealership will vary if they want to help you under warranty.

I can’t say yea it’s 100% it’ll happen. Some people who are at 50k+ miles and nothing happens while others it happens the moment they lift. So it’s up to you what you wanna do, just be ready to deal with it. I did mine before I lifted my truck so I didn’t have to deal with it down the road.

My experience was a slight pulsing droning sound between about 30 & 40mph. I could feel it in the steering wheel and gas pedal. Goes away as soon as you go into 4wd.

I got that. But why the vibe....I dont have it because I only am running 5100's on second notch.
I was thinking of doing the setup talked about and I know I wouldn't have any issues
Because I dont plan on lifting the truck only level and some airbags for towing.
But I cant say that this wont happen.

    More research :drevil:

I did not have it with 5100’s at 1 3/4”....as soon as the 6112’s were installed (4th notch/2nd gen) I noticed it right away. I believe the vibration comes from crappy tolerances of the needle bearing.

    That could make since.
But why would 4x4 help the needle then?

If you change the upper and lower a arms and extend the shaft because probably reaching the limit at 4th notch, is where the vibration might be caused in the needle Maybe?

How many of you are running stock UCA's with the 6112's in the 5th or 6th setting? Is it possible and still get decent alignment stats?
I was also a little worried about CV angles so I set them back to 4/3, although I'd really like to go higher. Thanks

Just buy regular 5100 or extended version. They’re good but they’re not the greatest for you to be waiting that long.

Just save up for the UCAs cheapest you can buy is 400. Don’t cheap out. Any amount of lift or even stock is a 50/50 chance of your needle bearing breaking. Do it right or don’t do it all.

    Good luck.

Just buy two 5160 rear rights and get extended break lines.

Wheeler's had a few sets roughly 2.5 weeks ago. I bought mine from them. Also had a set from Amazon where I managed to buy a left and right individually. Returned the Amazon units though.

Looks like they still do. Email to confirm, they're quick to respond.
