I am wondering if the replacement ones from the 5100's fit?

I might. Didn't want to make this public, but mine look like they are on the way out. Have only had 6112s for 1 year. 10k miles. I drive 95% pavement. Best shocks I've ever had though.

That's weird. I have had mine on for 30000 miles without any issues. What setting and spring did you have on there? What type of front weight do you have? Could the bolts have been over torqued?

I torque to spec with my Snap on torque wrench. I also wait to torque them down once the tires are on and vehicle lowered down. The springs they came with and set at 6/5.

Does the front end make a click or clink sound when you hit a dip hard? Mine does, wondering if thats whats causing it? I can see mines a bit crushed but maybe not that bad, but mine have been on for 4 years and 40k mi. Have you done some hard offroading? I've punished them a few times over the last few years. Have to go all the way back to page 5 on this thread when I did mine. Replaced 5100's with the same clink sound and the shocks fixed it???? The noise has been back for a year or so just ignore it now but would love to know what it is. I've checked and rechecked the LCA bushings, removed the sway bar and put it back, Torqued everything to spec and a bit beyond. Just dont really want to F*^k with it anymore. Too many other things to deal with.

Quoting myself. I entered the part number you see on my 6112 lower bushing.

90389-A0001. It is an OEM Toyota lower strut bushing. That's the replacement.

It sounds like you really need a DECKED system!

Just got a set of 6112s today and tried installing them on the 5th clip using the truck as a spring compressor. It did not work as the truck start lifting with a few threads to go (the 5100s were installed this way at max setting with ease) . The ID for the springs I received are E4-FD1-Z005B50 (different from other taco owners on here with E4-FD1-YOO5B29), which I believe is the FJ cruiser ID.

Can anyone confirm if FJ and tacomas use the same spring rate on 6112? Or did my supplier screw me over here...

Okay, thank you. Looks like I'll have to take it to a spring shop tomorrow.

Would you happen to know what the difference is between the E4-FD1-Y005B29 spring I have seen on other tacos and our spring (E4-FD1-Z005B50)?
