I bet I would get more lift and even better ride with 700s. The jump from 600 to 650 was very noticeable though. I've already tested the 650s offroad, they did great.

I keep going back and forth in regards to bumper / winch.... lol. Need to figure out how to prevent degrading ride and height.

got any side profile pics after the 650s?

Rear is Dakar Medium leafs with extended 5100 aka 5125. It's about level ride. Some days it looks higher in the back by just a little.

Eventually, I'm putting a FWC slide-in on this truck and with that much payload (1500 lbs) I won't be doing a ton of advanced off-roading anyway. But I do plan to re-gear anyway to help with the weight of the camper and other accessories, but that's still a few years off. I might move up to 285/70/17 tires at that time, but I'd never go any bigger than that. I have no intention of doing a CMC or any serious cutting.

Also, I think which tires you have, their pressure and how worn they are play as big a role in off-road performance as their size, unless they're 245s or something lol.

275/70R17 size has been my favorite size tire as for overall performance. Honestly. With a regear and the weight I think it would suite your needs good.

I'm torn between the 275 and 285. The 285 in a BFG KO2 or Wildpeak is bigger but it is lighter because they are C rated. I was resistant to do the CMC and I know I want to eventually regear, but have you noticed a big power loss with the 275 E rated weight? Its like 55lbs correct? What brand tire are you running?

I totally agree that 275s are a great compromise. My only concern is availability if I should blow a tire somewhere remote and need a quick replacement. Maybe I'm a bit paranoid, but it's not a common size.

The Wildpeaks C load are my top choice for my next tire. Can't beat them for the price.

I’d strongly recommend getting a full-size spare for that very reason

Unfortunately I don't think it'll fit in the designated spot under-chassis, which means relocating it to some sort of rear mount... and that means yet another expense (and more weight) that I hadn't planned on :spending:

Maybe I'll run E load and delete spare altogether.

285/75R16 is in my spare spot. Takes some finesse to get in the right area. But its there. Not full size spare for current tires. But will work as intended to get me home.
Not best pic, taken awhile ago. But you can see it hang here. You will have to cut exhaust too.

Why not get a spare under the truck?

edit: missed the last few posts. You can definitely fit that size.
