Thanks for that. Not sure my jackstands will reach the frame without significant elevation under them but I'll get them out tomorrow and have a look.

My kit arrived today and one of the 6112's has a cut seal at the top. :unamused: Those seals are a bitch to get through so I know how it happens but QC is seriously lacking if they missed that. Even the guy throwing them in the box should have noticed. Oh well, back that one goes!

I am pretty sure I saw someone with the same issue a while back on a Fox lift thread and apparently this o-ring is only used for assembly of the shock during manufacturing. If your shock is not leaking and still functions, I wouldn't worry too much.

@GrundleJuice tall 6ton jack stands. Not them small 3 tons. Hazard freight, check craigslist might find someone selling some old 6tons or 8tons.

What does that even mean? It's the dust wiper/oil wiper seal. If left this way dirt will get into the high pressure sealing area and it will not last long. Pretending this is not a problem seems ignorant.

Cool. I can swing by HF. Didn't know they had anything besides the shorter ones. Thanks

Question for you guys with the 6112s, I have a 2020 Taco TRD OR, looking at getting the 6112s with the 650# springs. I am not planning on adding any weight up front, from what I've seen with the 650# spring and the settings on 6/5, youll get around 2.5" of lift? Correct me if I am wrong. I know the chart says 6/5 is 2" but I assume that is with the 600# spring.

Would the 650# spring with a 5/4 or a 4/3 get you 2"? I dont necessarily want to max out the shock at 6/5, I have heard getting a 650# spring and lowering the perch a bit will still get you at 2" but the shock will perform better as they are not maxed out on the 6/5 perch setting.

Keep in mind that your 2020 is already 1 inch higher than the sec gens. If you are not going to adding any weight in the front, it would be a good idea to stick with the 600lb coils. Without weight it is going to be a really stiff ride even at a 3 notch setting. IMO, if no weight in the front is going to be added, stick with the 600lb coils and if you add weight in the future, then upgrade to 750lb ones. It is a cheap upgrade.

Wouldn’t the 3rd notch only net 1” of lift? Before it settles. And I suppose I’m going off the baseline height of the 3rd gen. So 2” of 3rd gen would be 3” 2nd gen

This might answer your question a little more. Keep in mind that these charts are for the 600lb spring.

    2nd gen chart for notches:
    9403279_orig.jpg
    3rd gen chart for notches
    6112-table-for-3rd-gen-1_orig.jpg
These charts take into account the height of the 3rd gen that is stock compared to a stock 2nd gen. It will show the different heights on different notches between the different gens for the 6112

But does that change at all with the 600lb spring vs the 650lb spring?

Most certainly. The 650lb bilstein spring is going to be stiffer and with an extra 120-200+ lbs in front, it will be around this height with the same type of ride. Without the weight, it will give about 1/2"-3/4" more height (depending on a dcsb or dclb) and will give a stiffer ride. Not to mention that the higher you go up to and over 2.5" in a 2nd gen and up to and over 1.5" in a 3rd gen, you are also looking at aftermarket uca's (which honestly should be done anyway IMHO) to focus on ride and caster correction.

Notes: Would say ride is much smoother when hitting larger bumps, brakes better without dipping as aggressive as stock suspension. I would reccomend going full height on the rings, it settles a lot more than you assume and I felt it was ebtter to know and want to lower once settles then never know. Even after install prior to the settling it didn't feel aggressively high at all and glad I went 5/6 full height.

Is the driver/passenger stagger for clip locations recommended on 2nd gen, also? The chart does not give a staggered setup example for each positions heights but it seems I've read that many do stagger anyway. My front is currently dead even with full fuel and no driver in the cab on stock suspension.

By “stock” suspension, I take it you have a TRD Pro(Bro according to your vehicle info lol)?

With the 2nd gens, any "taco lean" that a person has can and should be corrected with a 1/4" spacer. I have one on mine that evened it right up.

Roger that. I'll check how it sits after a couple tanks of gas and add one of I need to. Thanks.

Are UCAs needed for 6112s? Obviously according to Bilstein, the max lift is 2'' which would not necessitate UCAs, but if you're on the 6th clip it seems that most folks here are getting over 2"s. So anyone NOT installed UCAs with the 6112s at the 6th setting and had an issue with alignment that was solved with new UCAs?
