The lower bushings are known to go out. Some faster than others. Might have to remove the coilover to check though.

What’s the fix if the bushing is broken? Replace the bushing?

Brand new member, long time researcher. Thought I’d post some pics. Went with 6112s 5th notch in the front, Camburg UCA, 1.5 aal and standard 5100s in the back. Method 701s, with 285/70/17s Ridge Grapplers. Turned out awesome! Slight rub on the front left in reverse, easily adjusted for, no frame chop or anything crazy required. Thanks for all the previous posts in this thread helping me out! She drives better than stock!

I paid $730 for the 6112s, $680 for the UCA, $100 for the aal. I know I prob could have shopped around a bit more and saved a few bucks through headstrong etc, but I had limited internet access and organized it from deployment. My buddy has the 5100s, they are nice! But you can definitely tell the difference. 6112s are a solid compromise if you don’t want to spend a few more Ks on fox/icon.

Anyone know the thread size at top of the rod for the top nut that holds holds the top hat , spring and shock together? I’m about to swap out springs and the new top hats did not include the center nut

Removed the 6112 today and here are a couple pictures of the bushing. Does it look bad to you?

It is beginning to tear in some spots. Here is one of mine below. As you can see there is a part number. Toyota part# 90389-A0001.

Also don't forget when tightening this bolt down, truck needs to be on the ground. Not jacked up. Otherwise it puts extra tension/load on the bushing.

I am surprised it is happening this fast, I installed them at the end of April and have about 3000 miles on them. I did torque them on the ground when I installed them.

I didn't replace mine. Just kept an eye on it. Mine were 1 year old in that photo. You likely have another year or more before that bushing fully lets go. All depends how hard you drive it.

The bushings are not causing the popping noise so I am not going to worry about it. It only gets driven hard off road...

Bottom line, from those of you with the experience.

I'm moving up from 5100s and eibachs. Are the 6112 a reasonable upgrade, or should I be looking at Fox, Icon, etc.? I will upgrade to SPC UCAs from stock at the same time. I'm around 1.5inches lift now and want to be around 2.5 inches lift with the upgrade.

I went from 5100s (95K mile factory springs) to JBA UCSs, 6112/5160 and medium Dakar on rear. I am happy I upgraded and the front handles the faster bumps/washboards much better. The rear is meh, seems to blast through the stroke and then hit the bump stops more than expected.

I'm looking to upgrade my wheeler AAL to the medium Dakars. Maybe they are softer than what I'm wanting. I have a cap and usually 100lbs of gear in the back. Good to hear about the 6112s being an upgrade. I've been happy with the 5100s, but with 6+ years of use they are probably getting tired.

On Wednesday taking the truck back in for a adjustment on the 6112 for more rake. Currently I have Icon RXT leaf pack set on #2, 6112 set on 6/6 and 5160 rear. No spacer on the passenger side, I don't know why they set both sides to 6.
Need a little help with what setting to use on the 6112? Was thinking about 4/3? Or setting 5/4? One more thing, they are also installing Icon tubular upper control arms.
