I had my 6112s/5160s installed alittle over a month ago and after driving with them around town and doing a little wheeling this past weekend I can say I really like them. I wish there was alittle rake, but it ended up level which I am fine with, it looks like it has alittle bro lean in the pics due to the angle I was parked, but in a flat parking lot it is level. I went with SCP UCAs, set the fronts at 5/6 and went with an Icon AAL with the overload left in. The went with the setup because I have a camper shell (200-250lbs), RCI sliders (~125lbs), and full aluminum skids (~70lbs). I noticed when I was camping and had the back loaded up that I was sagged out and figured with all the weight that leaving the overload in would make sense.

I prefer the ride over stock because it is firmer in a way I prefer; way less brake dive, less boaty feel when turning, and less bouncy. It still soaks up bumps well and feels more composed over a rough road or a washboard road. I did the Oriflamme Canyon trail this past weekend for those in SoCal and I could feel a difference for sure.

    Tires are 265/75/16

I am considering going with a very similar setup, what add a leaf did you end up going with? I am trying to go with a 5/6 cip setting while making the truck sit as level as possible. I have a 16 double cab OR with a auto and I dont have any additional weight on the truck.

I'm having a hard time determining the spring rate to choose between 650# and 700#, as well as the notch settings with the following setup:
CBI T3 Full Hoop Bumper w/ winch (steel) ~200lbs
RCI Front IFS & Transmission Skids (steel) ~82lbs
    Mobtown Rock Sliders (steel) ~140lbs

I am looking to get 2" of lift up front with the added weight vs. stock suspension no added weight.

I also have a custom built pop up camper for the back ~450-500lbs, and carry a good amount of gear.
Rears I plan to run 5160s and Deaver Expedition III pack w/ Timbren bump stops.

Wondering also if I should really consider the aluminum T3 bumper to save on weight..

What are others running with heavy loads up front on the 6112s, seems like lots of variations on what to do.

Has anybody tried different height settings on the 6112s? Bilstein told me they tune their shocks at the highest level, so that would be 6/6. They said it is what it is. Just curious if others have switched settings a couple times or so and if if the ride is different in any way.

I have a second gen with mine set in the second from the top setting. There is a new hole on my daily route and I’ve noticed the truck drops into it pretty hard. I jack up the front end this afternoon to measure the down travel and it looks like I’m only getting about an inch. Is this normal?

I’m curious about this as well, sometimes it feels as though they reach their limit pretty quick

Looks good, with that stance and the -38s I'd get flaps, PPF or something, your rockers and rear quarters are gonna take a beating.

Nice. What clip do you have those 6112s on? Pretty much doing the same tire/wheel set up.

I'm willing to bet about 100% chance 5/6 or highest setting, with that offset.

@Wheeler's Off-Road Inc assembled and preset them at 6/6 for me. Rides stiffer than stock but i like it so far!

Huh that's odd, usually its 5/6 to account for the "taco lean". They'll soften a bit / settle.

I isntalled a 3/8" poly spacer to account for the lean, she sits almost exactly level front to back. If there is rake, you have to look closely for it

Looking for some advise from those of you that installed the Bilstein 6112s on a third gen Access cab
before moving them from the "cart" to "payment".

Clip position and lift attained along with ride quality on pavement / dirt vs TRD off-road suspension?

I'm well aware that Bilstein recommends a max of 4/5 for clip on 3rd gen Access cabs that provides a spec lift of 1.65" but I'd like to know actual real life results.

I’m 4/5 on the upgraded 650lb coils on a 3rd gen access cab and got 2.75”. It’s been 3 or so weeks, taken her wheeling at OHV and service roads and not much settling yet.

No weight on the front, just steel skids and sliders.

Im looking at the Ready Lift kit "3"F / 2"R SST LIFT KIT BILSTEIN 6112 COIL-OVER - TOYOTA TACOMA TRD / SR5 / ROCK WARRIOR 2005-2021". It comes with the 6112 coil overs with the top spacer, diff drop spacers, and 2 inch blocks and extended U bolts for the rear. Its around a grand. Do any of you have experience with a similar set up? Will I need UCA's or will I regret the spacers in the rear instead of AAL or a leaf pack? Will I wish I had gotten new rear shocks as well?

I’ve been running 6112 with 700 (4/5 notch) and just cbi steel bumper (no winch) for over a year. It’s a smidge too stiff but not terrible

I finally pulled the trigger and bought a set through Wheelers with their BF sale. I have a question, and yes I have read through this thread multiple times and googled, etc!

Anyone running on the 3/4 setting with a 1.5” AAL? I had them set to 3/4 and have a Wheelers 3 leaf AAL, hoping it will retain a stock like rake. Not sure it if I should have them set at 4/5 instead. Anyone have feedback on that?

I'm using that setting but went with a 1in block instead. Without the block I was 1/2in nose high. I'm guessing the AAL will get your the factory rake. I got more lift than the Bilstein chart noted.
