So are we supposed to put the clips at different levels? There are two instructions, the one I got of the bilstein website today does not say to have them at different circlip positions, WTF? I got the other instructions from a off road retailer, they have different model numbers at the top. First one found on bilstein website for tacoma. Second one found at other retailer's website
So first I had them installed at the same position with a spacer and it was able to be aligned, now that I removed the spacer and have them at different circlip positions alignment is more difficult

So this has been an overall question that a lot of people have asked over the past couple of years. Having the 6112's in a Second gen, I can give you a brief overview of two different modes of thought. When the 6112's came out for the second GEN Tacoma, it was very widely accepted for them to be on the exact same clip and have a 1/4 top hat spacer on the driver side to compensate for the Tacoma lean. I still have that quarter and spacer on my driver side to this day since I installed them four years ago. On the third generation Tacoma's, it was widely accepted to move from the top hat spacer to separate clip settings. This might be due to the third-generation Tacoma having factory lift that is 1 inch higher than the second-generation Tacoma's. When looking at your first set of instructions, they are the instructions for a 2nd gen 6112 with 5 clip settings. The second set of directions are for the third-generation 6112's with 6 clip settings so I can understand the differences being told between the two of them. Seeing that you have a 2015, technically you can do either of the two options since a lot of people on here with second-generation Tacoma's have done both and had positive results just understand that alignment may be a little bit more difficult. Do you currently have an aftermarket upper control arm to help with alignment?

No I have stock UCA, but interestingly after looking at my suspension a little more clearly the inner tie rods are different from left to right. You see I had an accident a while back and I think that the shop replaced the passenger side inner tie rod with an incorrect part. After some research it appears they replaced the tie rod with a 2x4 tie rod instead of a 4x4 tie rod, maybe that's what is causing the problem.
First pic driver, second pic passenger ( I had the accident on passenger side, and that's the side they are having the problem aligning)

Was able to track down the clunking noise thanks to endless information in Tacomaworld. I still think the back sits a little high but hoping it settles. Just need to install77E9BFF9-97AA-4796-A55E-BE858D1DF2FB.jpg the extended brake lines before I take it on the dirt

Loose sway bar bolts, also took off the front splash guard so I guess that could have been it too

I only had an hour or so to work last night, but I’ve made some progress anyways.. I purchased the medium dakars and have been on the fence about lift height, in a perfect world I’d like 1.5-2”. The below pictures are with one medium overload leaf removed. I’m debating putting it back in tonight before I move along any further though! Decisions decisions!

Edit: I'm putting the overload back in tonight and letting things settle as designed before I make any drastic decisions down the road.

I can't get a good photo at night so I'll update tomorrow, but I'm finally finished with the lift! Just went for a quick drive and I'm happy to report no vibrations, shakes or stutters! Looking forward to verifying torque tomorrow and alignment Monday.

Surprisingly under 2" for a fresh install unless your stock was slightly lower than the 21"f/22"r norm.

Anyone know if there's a difference between the 5160's left and right side? I ordered the 6112 / 5160 pack and got sent two left rears. Seller says there isn't a difference and I can't find anything online...Sorry to hijack!

Thanks for the reply! Guess we're just gonna cross our fingers and move forward with the install. Couldn't get a replacement right now even if I wanted to....

I didn't want to go too tall to begin with, so the less than 2" is fantastic. However, the results seem atypical to what everyone else reported.

Surely aluminum skids, sliders, and the oem bedmat isn't enough weight to drop the lift 1/2".

I wouldn't think so, but ya never know. I lost almost a full inch in front with my sliders and front/mid steel skids. But, that was with stock OR suspension which is a lower spring rate than your setup.

Someone else on here used two left shocks and said it was fine. The "right" side kit has the spacer...it's literally just a aluminum block that's 1/4" thick and sits under the brake line bracket. You could use some washers to get the same effect.

Thanks, dude. This is consistent with the information I found. The supplier got back to me and said there isn't a difference, functionally, between the sides. Didn't want to half-ass this part of my build but I'll figure it out...
