And I was helping the 3rd gen owners. Making sure it was clarified. This thread is supposed to help all 6112 owners.

That's exactly right. I've owned all 3 gens of the 4x4 Tacoma's, and used bilsteins on all 3. All are different. It can get confusing especially for new members looking to lift their trucks.

Would love any feedback from folks who set these high, for example, I plan on the 2.15” 4th clip setting for 2nd gen to pair with the 1.85” of lift I would get from the Icon RXT leaf pack I plan to install. Some folks say the ride quality suffers going this high. Some say to go with 650 lb springs at lower settings instead to achieve the lift. Wheeler’s scoffed at that idea given stock weight in the truck and said my ride quality would go down.

Also, this seems to be getting close to aftermarket UCA territory. Do I need them?

I have this exact setup. 4th clip and 650 lb. springs. Te ride is def. firm and I have a bumper and winch. YMMV. JBA UCA's as well for alignment.

Do you think it’s firm because of the clip setting or the heavier springs?

Both. What setting will you run the rxt's at? I am on the second setting. If youre thinking of running first setting, you might try the third clip up front.

FWIW 6/5 setting full skids / sliders 650lb coils 2” of lift. With weight ride is great IMO. Also waiting on my RXT Going to set it for option #2

I would run them at option 1 since the only time I would have weight would be the 6 miles to and from the ramp on weekends.

I’ve absolutely thought about setting 3 on the 6112’s. I’m on the fence. Setting 4 would get me closer to level, setting 3 would allow me closer to level with the sag from the boat, and perhaps a less rough ride. I guess I can try them one way and change the setting later if I want. REALLY want to avoid that though.

I went with the Wheelers Superbumps and U-bolt flip kit. I haven't really noticed the difference in the rear but the front is more comfortable on harder hits. I honestly can't say if it is the 6112s or the bump stops or both.

Super bumps made a huge difference in the front for me on 6112’s.

What height setting are you on? I was on 6/5, but topped out the suspension on big speed bumps or offroad all the time. Went to 5/4 and it tops out still but not nearly as bad. Wondering if the super bumps would make it rebound back quicker and intensify the top out?

Do you notice any of this with them?

Whatever comes stock with them. Can't remember if it's 550 or 600? Pretty sure 600 though.

Yeah 600 is standard. IMO you go 6/5 with a little weight , New bump stops no problem. Never had issues. Now I’m running 650 with full skids / sliders. 2” of lift no complaints. Running super bumps front and rear also
