I would just drive around the block several times. Or if the alignment shop if like 5 miles….should be good by then.

This. Bumble around a little bit, and go get the alignment. There's no bunch of miles you need to put on. I usually am about 20-30 miles of driving around before I can even get into a shop.

After totalling my 2nd gen with enough parts that I about had to sit down and cry lol. I haven't known where to start on the 3rd gen build. Thanks to everyone posting so much valuable info here, I finally got a start. I just bought brand new wheels and 285 70 17 before the total... So I yanked those and lifted to accommodate: 6112 set to 6/6 and 650 heavy load coils (welding new armor at shop ) refinished red , added JBA UCA, diff drop, extended brake line; in the rear 5160, icon AAL, left heavy load leaf in. The ride is moderate firm, but exactly how I love it. Just wanted to pay the info forward and save someone weeks of going down the lift rabbit hole.

hows it ride on the street on option 2? did you do anything else to it to accommodate the lift? Ive also got a long bed and plan on adding a hitop shell within the next year and also have some Schmell sliders on order... looking to dial in 2" front and back... Great looking truck!

Thank you! The ride is phenomenal. It is noticeably stiffer, but in a good way. There is no more front end dive on braking, and I don't hit the bump-stops on the rear anymore. The only things I did for the lift are what I listed there. I should add that I have built out a sleeping platform with drawers in the back with 3/4" plywood, and that's why I chose option two.

How are your cv axles? I’m on 6/6 with 650 springs and my cvs are angled quite a bit.

How are you guys honestly liking this shocks? After having them for a year or more.

I have them for about 35k miles….with the 650 spring at first and now 600 spring on the 2nd notch.

They are a little stiff for me still. Even daily driving it on the streets. I’ll hit a small hole in the road and it doesn’t absorb it that well.

Curious what fox or kings feel like. Are they really worth double what these are?

Happiness is in the eye of the beholder. Bilstein are digressive. Some like the ride some don’t. IMO I’m stoked. When these wear out I’ll get them again. 6/5 settings 650 coils full armor ride is great.

Do you have any added weight in armor or winch or anything?

If 600lbs springs are still too stiff that's what I am assuming as well but wanted to hear it from the horses mouth. They are digressive shocks so it makes sense he doesn't like stiffness on road. Digressive shock + no added weight = rough ride

No. I am pretty much stock for weight. Just have a camper shell in the back. Plus about 150lbs of dogs.

what would be a comparable linear or progressive shock? i.e. similar price range and quality?

"Closest" IMO would be something like the Fox 2.0. It's all relative though. All performance shocks, progressive or otherwise are going to feel a bit firmer across the board. Some folks are really sensitive to it too. There's a lot of discussion over on the Tundra forums from time to time about people thinking that the OEM Tundra suspension is too firm.

Why? The same reasons why some people listen to music turned up to 11 and my sister watches TV at a mouse whisper volume and uses captions... Like a psychopath.

Go and hit something with a proper progressive or digressive shock and either way you'll know you're not on stock suspension anymore. Because you and all of your gear would have normally been pinned to the ceiling.
