Where are you in TN? I'm in Nashville debating on running the 6112/5160 set up

Alright guys I have done a ton of research on the forum since getting my new 2022 TRD OR DCSB, and have been on the fence about a suspension upgrade but I am sold on the Bilstein upgrade. Below are my plans for the truck in the next 12 months as funds allow, and just want to make sure I am thinking this all through correctly. This truck is a daily driver that is also used for hunting frequently on rocky 2 track trails, so looking for a good compromise between on and off-road.

I plan on adding a caliraised stealth bumper with light bar in the front, no winch. I also intend to add a Leer 100XR shell in the rear. Currently running Method 312 17 x 8.5 0 offset wheels on 265/70R17 K02 tires, as well as TRD front skid plate.

I want to run the 6112 at 10/8 notch to give about 1.5"-1.75" of lift after front armor is installed, with 5160 rear shocks and Icon RXT leaf pack on option 2 to maintain 0.5"-1" of rake. I will more than likely also opt for ECGS swap while truck is apart to be safe.

Is there anything that I am missing or need to be aware of?

you nailed it. The only other thing to consider is extended brake lines, mine are stretched with 5160s and stage 3 icons. You’ll love that set up!

Are you running 600# or 650# spring in the front?

More positive caster will decrease bump steer. Aftermarket upper control arms with added caster should help. I have had the light racing style and JBA-i prefer JBA. You also need an alignment tech that is willing to go outside of Toyota's specs. You should be able to get around 4* caster, stock calls for about 2.5*.

We only recommend a new UCA at anything north of 2" of front lift. Even up to 2" is generally OK though. A new UCA can give you more opportunity to dial in alignment to your desired specs or sharpshoot where in the wheel well that your tire sits, but an OEM UCA can usually get you back to good numbers at <2".

I see that with the 650lb coil you can expect to have an added .5" of lift vs the 600lb. What is everyones thoughts on using the 650lb coil in order to obtain the same amount of lift but being able to set the clips at 9/7 instead of 10/8 with the 600lb coil. Would the stiffer coil offset the benefits of less preload and basically come out the same as ride quality?

Just added 700# springs to my 6112's after adding something like 225 pounds of weight to the front. Gained more lift than I had originally with lighter springs and less weight, and the ride is once again excellent. No more bottoming out on the 34's either.. Settled an inch after, thank god, had just under 41 inches to the fender after install.
I would not personally recommend using spring rate to change ride height over moving perch height. The difference in (detrimental) shock feel was minimal to gain lift with extra preload (moving perch up) but swapping springs made a monumental difference that I couldn't recommend without the added weight.

Besides more clip options, are there any changes or benefits to the new 6112 model?

How does it ride on the highest clip? I want to retain a 2 inch lift. Would it ride better moving it to a lower clip and adding a top mount spacer?

Heard mixed reviews on riding on the highest clip. Can't say how it feels on the highest clip but I can say that I'm running #4/#5 on the 6 notch shocks with a 1/4" spacer on both sides and have exactly 2" lift-- ride quality is great for me.

I’ve been on the 6/6 with 1/4 lean spacer for over 55,000km (34,000 miles) on my 2016 double cab long bed. Originally had about 2.5 inch lift and now sitting at 2 inches after it settled. Ride has always been great to me since installing, way better than stock sport suspension. I would say it took about 10,000km (6200 miles) for the springs to settle in abit.

overall if I were doing it again I would install the 650lb springs from the start and I would coat shock body’s with 2k clear coat since I live in salty winter conditions which the zinc coating doesnt like it.

Does this actually work? I have some 6112s sitting in a box waiting to get installed and the springs aren't on them yet. can they be coated with clear to help save them from the road cancer effects?

I just ordered the 6112/5160 kit from suspension lifts.com. I chose the 10/8 clips which is supposed to get 1.7" of lift. They showed up today and were the old versions set on the 5/4 clips which is only shown at 1.5". My plan was to keep some rake, so I figured lifting the front the 1.7" and the rear 1.5" with an AAL would do the trick.

I'm annoyed but is it worth making them swap it out? Do these things give more than advertised lift and not settle a whole lot?

all depends on the person. is .2" going to make a difference for you? i personally wouldn't care.

every truck is diffrent, but as i understand, you will get a little more lift, and then it will settle.
