    What is the correct part number on the 6112 for a gen 3? Some websites have it listed as 47234413, and another as 47309975

    Hopefully someone else chimes in but I believe they will both work, and that one is simply an older version. The newer version offering a few more or possibly different setting/clip options. Don’t quote me on this.

    I would go by the source website manufacturer of the shocks Bilstein website

    I too have heard that they were working on coming out with a new version with more adjustment points
    I'd have thought 5 clip settings was enough for a non adjustable coilover

    Got mine installed today. #9/#7.

    Just shy of 5 hrs, working alone, and doing the ECGS bushing while I was there (including the 5160s in the back). Hardest part was popping the axle out of the front diff for the bushing. Thought that would be easier. Cold chisel and BFH. I did shave one side of my ECGS bearing removal tool to get it in there to pull the bearing. That was an extremely tight fit.

    Removed the sway bar linkage, (2) 19mm ball joint to LCA bolts (I think that is what they are called) and the axle nut on each side...that was it. Slid the spindle/brake/et al assembly out of the way, and every thing fed in/out the bottom. Didn't touch the LCA bolts!

    Passenger's side took maybe 30 min total, once I learned on the driver's side (and obviously didn't have to do the axle removal part).

    No before and after picks, or measurements...LOL. Just wanted to get it done.

    Got everything back together and went for a drive. No clunks and everything seemed to work normal. It tracked straight at speed, so alignment must be close (since I didn't need to touch the LCA bolts). Still gotta get the alignment reset this week.

    I like the way it rides better than the stock OR setup. I did hit a rough side road close to home to give everything a proper shakedown. Obviously need a lot more miles before rendering a final verdict...

    So far, so good!

    Have read through a few dozen pages and am looking for some input on which spring weight to go with. I've got a 17 dcsb with 285/70/17 ko2s, sos concept sliders, prinsu cab rack (pelican case with recovery gear), full size spare (mounted where factory spare is) and no plans to add bumpers or skids. With this additional 200lbs, mostly to mid/rear of the truck, justify going up to 650lb springs? Replacing an old icon stage 2 lift the fella i bought the truck from had installed so i'm pretty sure i'll need to go with the 11/9 clip positions.

    Short answer is no. I don't think you need to hop up to the heavier spring. That said, how much front lift (from stock) are you trying to achieve? If you are asking everything that the 6112 could possibly offer in terms of ride height you likely won't get quite that. I would then be inclined to tell you to go with the 650 and bring your notches down a bit.

    Appreciate the quick reply on a friday, very fitting that it was you guys who responded too since i'd been planning on ordering the setup from Hotshot! I'd like to get close to the full 2in but would be alright if i end up closer to 1.75". My current lift has me at about +1.75-2in up front. Oh and i forgot to add that i do run a softopper too but i doubt that changes your spring weight suggestion.

    If you wanted to capture all of the 2" you'll be money ahead going with a slightly heavier spring and set the circlips to 9/7. Have the ride height you want while also maintaining up/down travel. The 650 springs aren't impossibly stiff, and I think you have enough weight that the front end is currently absorbing to get into the 650s "enough" to where you don't feel like you're riding on top of them.

    The other option would be to stick with the stock 6112 springs and perch them to 11/9. You'll likely be about 1.8" over stock if I had to guess. If you can live with that then perfect!

    And of course the other option would be to run stock 6112 springs, move the circlips down, and then get small top plate spacers to get the ride height. Probably my least favorite option of the bunch, but they all work!

    I can most definitely live with the 1.8”. Is there concern with losing up/down travel or bottoming out when maxing the clip setting to 11/9? If so I can deal with a slightly stiffer ride on the 650lbs and maybe justify throwing some extra weight up front. Can’t thank you enough for all the help!

    From a strictly technical perspective the more ride height that you capture via moving up circlips the more downtravel you're losing. That said, 11/9 is far and away the most common assembly setup. Unless you're a travel junkie you're not going to notice that you're on 11/9 vs something like 9/7. For the layman it is still plenty of travel for what the vast majority of us do.

    i have tried to do my homework but maybe I’m just unable to be satisfied lol. Any other comments on this? I drive a 2013 with no modifications adding weight, on 285/70/17. Potential to add sliders and some other weight in the future but willing to address that when the time comes. 2nd gen but any comments would be appreciated. Planning on regular 600lb spring. I am basically weighing out if I should max the height and if that might effect ride quality. I have read mixed reviews about ‘topping out.’ Ultimately debating 2.5” vs 2” intended lift. Thoughts appreciated

    If it were my truck I would set them up for the recommended height. The instructions are pretty good if you are stock weight still. On the street you are likely to notice the topping out on speedbumps going fast or potholes. Off-road or over rough terrain it will be very noticeable in ride and handling(traction) quality. For slower off road, it will also limit your ability to stuff a wheel as the spring will be more compressed at full stuff (the sway bar will prevent flex before this point anyways).

    IF you add weight in the future and lose say 1/2" inch you can just go back and adjust a clip to compensate. As long as you arrive back at the pre weight add height your alignment wont even be required to be redone.
