It's been 1 1/2 months for me now. Hot a email from the seller saying they hope to get resupplied and hope I get my order. Obviously if I get missed I'm gonna bail on them and find a different seller or just pick different shocks. I really don't think these are the holy grail at this price

The Caster is too low. You should increase caster to +3 to get better tracking and reduce wander.

This is a daily driver with backroad and very minor off-road to camp and hunt in.
Camper shell and 100-200 lbs daily
    Deaver springs
No armor or skids but I may put a relentless stinger and winch some day(maybe).
I like it light and factory looking.
I need suspension and looking at the 6112/5160 curious if i should run swaybar or sway bar relocate or just take off.
    600 vs 650 springs.
Will taking off sway and 650 springs be the best option or 600 and keep sway bar or a combo of something else?
    Thanks

But, just finally got around to installing my 6112s with 650s, and heavier rear leafs this past weekend.
I have SSO winch bumper, with winch. Sliders, skids(aluminum for now), cap, steel rear bumper with swingout(s), 100lb bed mat, and a tool box in the back. Ditched the sway bar this time.
    Truck feels fantastic.
I'd think without the extra front end weight, the 650s would be...excessive. and I'm carrying enough weight the AllPro expedition leaf springs aren't harsh either.

Next thing I want to do is explore rear shock lengths, vs valving. Really don't want to get into a relocation kit.

With what you've shared you're going to be unhappy with a 650 spring, swaybar or not. You just don't have enough weight up there to engage the heavier spring so you'll unfortunately just be riding atop it. So I encourage you to go with the 600# spring. As for the swaybar or not discussion... I am always a fan of no sway up front, and with the loadout you've shared I probably wouldn't even run one on the rear. The nice thing is that you can pull it, run for a couple of days, and determine if you like it! Relatively easy on/off when desired.

We've got them on the shelf over here at Hotshot Offroad as well, and would love to help if we can! Let me know if you have any further questions.

Using the factory bumper and no skid plates, I suggest staying with 600# springs. Once you add a bumper and winch, then upgrade to 650# springs. Too heavy a spring with too light of a load will result in a harsh ride, and the suspension not compressing very much.

As for the sway bar, a relocate is not needed. Take it off, and drive the truck. If you like it, leave it off. Otherwise, put it back on. The suspension performs much better off-road without the sway bar - it becomes truly independent. However, if you do not venture off-road much (and don't run through "difficult" trails, having the sway bar will not really affect your off-road driving.

I'm running Wheeler's. This was the only one I found at the time (many years ago.)

Hotshot Offroad may have some new alternatives.

We'll likely have a sale of some flavor coming up, but we haven't locked anything down over here. Bilstein doesn't run sales from a manufacturer level so it's all at the retailer level for sales.

The Wheelers bumps are good, and we've got a soft spot for Durobumps as of late. Handful of good options out there! We can help get you whatever tickles your fancy.

If shooting for 2 inchs after settling on a 2nd Gen with no bumpers and 600 lb springs would you set at the 2.2 or 2.5 settings?
Would you compensate for lean in the settings?

These trucks don't settle "much" so I would be inclined to go for the 2.2 setting. We always build Tacoma kits to compensate for the lean (unless requested otherwise) and mark them driver/passenger to account for that. No problem at all.

How's the ride quality on a 3rd gen with the settings maxed out?

Did you have any added weight with the 650lb springs?

The only weight I have added impacting the front is:
    • TRD Pro Aluminum Skid Plate (trivial, maybe 10 pounds heavier than the Offroad stamped steel skid plate
    • Aluminum Cat Protector Shield (also trivial)
    • Rock sliders - not trivial weight but it is distributed pretty evenly across the entire truck
For all practical purposes, me, my mechanic, and talking to Bilstein, the 600 pound springs should have been fine. The 650 got me to where I expected to with the 600#.
