Looks great! Did you have to change the UCAs or where you able to get the alignment in spec w/ the stock UCAs?

For the guys running the 6112/5160 combo, just how fast are you guys able to get while wheeling over wash boards and rock gardens?

    40mph?

With the stock suspension I can barley hit 20 but that's really pushing the limit.

Currently running 6112/5160 4/5th notch with 3 leaf aal with overload installed. Contemplating taking the overload off due to a stiff ride. Has anyone felt the difference with and without? Is it substantially softer without? I cant seem to pull the trigger on removal because I really like the way it looks. It has a rake which I prefer. Anyone like to share their experience?

I haven’t been able to get out and do much off-roading since I installed mine, but on our Main Street, which is cobble stone, I can do 30 now where I could barley do 20 before.(speed limit is 25). On the highway the faster I go the smoother the ride. There is a bridge on my way to work that I used to come off the road crossing now I barely notice the bump. That’s at 45-50 mph.

It depends on the road, washboards suck no matter. Where this setup shines is when your going over bigger bumps and whoops. Where the stock setup would be getting pounded and bottoming now its nice and cushy as the much beefier shocks are soaking it all up. Definitely can go faster through rough terrain no question. If you go with this setup my suggestion is don't try to lift it too much. Two inches and it still works great over that it progressively get rougher. Out back add a progressive aal pack or new spring pack without the overload and you'll be cruising over the bumps. ;)

I'll just say this because I ditched the OL spring as soon as I added the 3aal's. It's not rough at all and allows the rear shocks to work much better. I had mine installed at Deaver at they said not to use it with the aals. It rides sweet. Like stock or better on road but much better off road, and can take a load still. I tow a trailer with 450lb tongue plus gear no problem. I had contemplated putting it back on for the towing part but got a weight distribution hitch, now it's much better. No need to put it on now even with the RV trips.

Thanks that's just what I wanted to hear, and I was going to set it at 5th jor 6th notch cause I want 285s.

    Is that to much?

I set mine at 6driver 5 passenger got 3 inche lift in front. After a month still sitting at 3 inches. I would say it does ride a bit rougher but not bad at all. If you are trying to get ride/speed out of your setup. I would probably drop it down a notch or 2.

Yea that's at the 5/4 notch. I might put it at the 6/5 when I get UCA and possibly 650 springs

Do not do much wheeling but I do live on a poorly maintained gravel road and drive on them frequently around here. This is 8000 ft ASL, SW Colorado Rockies. Lot of washboard, pretty much everywhere. 6112/5160 made a huge improvement over it. There is stuff I would try to hit at 10 MPH with stock susp that you'd have to come to a full stop and start over, truck would get so squirrely like it was hammering itself to pieces. With the 6112/5160 like it wasn't there. Really a huge difference and over potholes too. Far more supple and composed with better wheel control, over small and large imperfections. Very little NVH gets transmitted to the chassis. Another class entirely.

For $1700 bucks with ucas this sounds like a great deal If I can double my speed off road.

    Thanks again fellas.

Awesome, and I know what you mean about having to come to a stop just so you don't bottom out.

Looks like the Bilsteins are the better value for your money when compared with the big three.

Well I'm not going to claim you can hit everything out there twice as fast. But you will be able to run over stuff comfortably you weren't able to before, and run over most stuff a lot faster if you want to. There's areas I could hit at 40 MPH with stock suspension but kind of sketchy, would not try to hit it at 80 now if you get my drift. But no doubt new susp handles it far better at 40 MPH, and even 60 is not a problem. Would not want to hit it at 80 under any circumstances, because that is just too fast for other conditions.

If you want to get a feel for what this can do, my understanding is the 6112/5160 is basically very similar to the TRD Pro suspension (prior to them shifting over to Fox in 2017 I think, still pretty close) and you could test drive one of those see how it does.

That's actually a good ide a to test drive a pro.

    Thanks

So... I like to drive spiritedly off road. Washboard is tough as mentioned, but this suspension handles the dirt roads at speed very well! One thing I noticed on washboard is that the stock front suspension would chatter sideways in turns as the tires intermittently lost contact with the ground. It does not do that anymore, which is huge. It handles surprise big hits very well too. I'm at clip grooves 5/6. After a few weeks where I though it was going to be too stiff.... It got compliant and now rides off road like I had hoped it would. No clunking, nothing harsh.

The overload spring does not engage until you have enough load on the truck to engage it. Unloaded, you will NOT be able to tell a difference between having it and not. It just provides an additional half inch of lift. Once it is loaded and engaged, you may feel it, very similarly to the way it felt on the stock springs. I left mine in to keep the factory rake of the truck. With some load in the bed, the truck will sit just above level instead of butt end low.

left In, it equals more lift due to the thickness of the OL spring. Out will allow your rear to sit low with a load..

This really is a great suspension at a great value. It's not a long travel desert racing setup... but that's not what I do.
