That's one of the things I'm concerned about as well. I'm planning on SSO Slimline and X2o winch, possibly upgrade the battery to larger Northstar. I already have heavy (120 lbs) bolt on sliders, and lightweight skids (~60 lbs). I'd like to raise my Taco a 2" using 6112 and 5160 (or B110), but earlier in the thread I believe I've read that 650 lbs coils were not 'complementing' 6112s (please keep in mind that since it was earlier in the thread, it was a 2nd Gen Taco, and earlier 6112s).
Yeah, I know I'm not helping you :anonymous:, I'm just kind of in a similar boat.

Edit. From what I remember that user had a heavier bumper on, and eventually he went with 700 lb Springs, which worked better for him.

Got my 6112/5160 installed yesterday, paired it with camburg ball joint UCA’s. Install took about 5 hours from start to finish. Couldn’t be happier with the results coming from 5100’s all around.

I went with the 6th setting on the drivers side and 5th on the passenger side as recommend on the headstrong site in order to provide two inches of lift.

Picture show EL095R which is the OME leaf spring pack. Same ones I have. I'd recommend them over the AAL all day. Way better than the AAL I had before.

This is correct, I have the OME medium duty leaf pack. I had a block previous and this leaf pack was well worth the money.

FYI: Salted roads suck during winter season, both sides look more or less the same for surface rust and that's me rinsing it quite often with a powerwash. I have fluid film but I was sick at the time before the snow fall. IMG_0068.jpg

Good ol Home Depot, but I was looking for Corroseal, but they didn't have it in stock so I took a gamble on this...only 10 bucks vs Corroseal was double the price for 1/2 gallon. IMG_0071.jpg

20min of dissolving and rinsed thourughly. (No need for a wire brush) IMG_0074.jpg

The part is #17b for those who wanna cover your Resi so rust doesn't build up. I just ordered mine. Saw this on other forums to fix the problem.

After: a little bit better but it's cold as hell outside and didn't let it sit as long. Directions says results are better if it's 70 and above and should let it dry. It's 34F lolIMG_0083.jpg

I just skimmed over most of the thread (pg 20ish onward) , couldn't find what I was referring to... Oh well, hope I didn't confuse some other posts with @Sna, who has 6112s and 650 lbs springs on a 2nd gen. But from what I remember he was pretty happy after dropping preload down a notch.
There was also @Sixthelement, who installed 6112's on 3rd Gen, and was supposed to get a very similar setup and report on it

@Sixthelement, how did you make out with your setup?

Yes, I have 6112's on my second gen with Eibach 650lb springs because I have a 9500lb winch and CBI aluminum front bumper. When they were first installed I had them on the 4th notch but it was WAY to high and I was looking at between 4-4.5" of lift. The CV angles were no good either. A week later I lowered the preload to the 2nd notch and was very happy with the results since I had the 2-2.25" of lift I was originally looking for and the CV angles were now good. When I did the suspension on my truck I was not looking at a huge amount of lift but more for better load handling as I was planning on making the truck a camping rig. The rear sits a bit high (say no to bro lean) but it almost levels out once I get a good load in the box.

If I did not have the winch and bumper I would have likely used the 6112 springs on the 4th notch as many others have. For me, with the winch and aluminum front bumper, the 650lb springs were the correct choice and I am extremely pleased with the ride. I get no clunking or anything when I go over bumps; the 6112/650's just soak it up!

Are the Eibachs you used on the 6112's the same as you would use with 5100's or a larger diameter coil? I've been thinking about switching to the 6112's and already have the 600# 2.5" lift Eibach's on 5100's

The 6112 springs are 3” as are the Eibach ones I used. The 2.5” ones you have will not work. The 6112 springs are 600# for the 2nd Gen.

Thanks a lot for your review!
You have older style 6112s (5 notches instead of 6) , right?

At first I was shocked a bit about ammount of lift that was possible from 6112s... but then I realized that 3-3 1/2 inches lift was only on 2nd gens... 3rd gens have a 1 inch "factory lift", so it looks like Bilstein took it under consideration, and we get up to 2" from 6112s.

Now, because I'm a bit greedy, I'd like to get those whole 2 inches of lift, but I think I might need 650 lbs coils (like @Sna ) since I have some weight (aluminum skids and steel sliders) already, and I'm planning on more extra weight (slimlinr bumper and winch) in fairly
Thanks again for your input @Sna
I still would like me to find out how everything worked out with @Sixthelement , but it looks like he hasn't been here in a while.

Is the 2nd tacoma gen 6112s will give u 3" max? And the 3rd Gen 6112 will give you 2"?

I also heard that 2nd gen 6112s will fit 3rd gen?
