Lots of information here but what is the general consensus on which clip setting to use to gain around 2.5”. Looking to go with a 3 leaf AAL with overload left in and would like the truck to sit close to level. I have a 2nd gen 4x4.

I think it really depends upon whether or not you have a double cab, a double cab with the long bed, or an access cab. I have a double cab the long bed and I have it set on the fourth notch. I am getting exactly 2.15 inches. The fifth notch would give you 2.5. At first when I installed them, it was upwards of 3" but they needed to settle in a couple of days. I did not add an AAL, I went with the Dakar Springs for the rear. The rear of my truck is exactly 1 inch higher than the front of my truck which gives it a factory rake.

I have a DCSB. Bilsteins chart shows #5 being 2.46” but I know people have been getting more than advertised. I don’t mind slight rake, maybe something around factory. I was leaning towards the 4th setting but wasn’t sure if it would settle too low for my liking. I’m looking to pair it with a Headstrong 3 Leaf. Anyone running this setup and can chime in on what setting they used?

I have an 05 OR, 6112 + 5160's, HS 3 leaf, no overload leaf, on the 3+1 TSB rear springs. I have the front on #2 setting and rake is just about 1/4-1/2" more than stock. The front has not settled much since install maybe 16 months ago. At the time I had just got new TSB leafs and it was dead level. However the rear settled a lot and eventually it was nose high, so I went with the AAL and removed the overload leaf (per instructions and I did not want to take apart the front again to move it to #3). I think #4 would be as high as you'd want to go with the AAL and that is with the overload leaf in there. #3 with the overload out would be right at factory rake IMHO.

Ok so i am about to place an order for these shocks with 5160s and dakar leaf packs. Are the dakars too much lift/too stiff for a truck that is usually unladen? My inclination is to go ahead with them because I have the 2+1 toyota leafs and I do carry some weight at times and tow. Thanks for any insight.

I have a 2013 dclb sport with the dakars and the 5160's. They are the medium dakars not the heavy and I am getting a 2.75" lift with a cap on the back. It rides like it is on pillows. The older 5160's weren't recommended with the dakars because if the range of the original shock. The newer ones have the same range if the ome shocks that are made for the dakars.

Just ordered some 6112’s for my 3rd gen 17’ DC LB. Anyone set on the 5th notch and if so, how much actual settled lift did you get. I’m stock up front, with alumn skid and rock sliders. Going to use 1/4” spacer for lean. Hope to get close to 2”.

Order placed. 6112/5160 combo with icon 1.5 inch add a leaf. Don't think I need Dakar. Too much lift and I have no extra weight. And of course headstrong was backordered on their progressive add a leaf. . Can't wait to have it installed!

I'm set at 4/5 with no separate spacer and ended up around 1.6 inches. I think if you go 5 with spacer you should be close to 2.

Look into Eibach springs. rumor has it they are the private label manufacturer

    https://eibach.com/us/c-38.3-ers-coilover-spring-silver.html

I have the 6112 on my Tundra with the 1600.300.0800S Eibach - 800lb springs.

Here is a comparison vs the spring that came with the Bilsteins for DC Tundra 4WD:

Getting ready to order my 6112 for my 2nd gen double cab with camper shell and also planning on doing the 5160 for the rear, I only want 2" of lift front and rear and I want to stray away from blocks due to ride quality. Any advice for the rears would be appreciated. And any other "in hindsight" moments.

For a 2" lift in the rear you might want to go with a AAL. I have a long bed with a cap and I have the Medium Dakars with the 5160's. I got 2.75" and it went down to 2.25" with my everyday weight that I carry around in the back. Since you have a short bed, you might want to start on setting 3 on the 6112's and then move up to 4 if it is not tall enough when they settle. if you do that, you also might want to get some aftermarket UCA's for better articulation.
