Has anyone installed an OME coil like the 887 in place of the 6112 coil? It would be nice to have the specs on the coil that comes on the 6112, I thought I saw a spring rate somewhere in this thread but no length. My thought is drawing out the extra 1/2" or so of lift, so that I would get 2.5" total on the 3rd clip if possible.... by a little more spring pre-load.

Eibach 14" 650lb and 700lb fit. don't know if anybody on here has run them or not or how well they work with the valving in the 6112. My uneducated guess would be that the 650 would be fine, no idea about the 700.

6112 spring rate has been tested at 610 as far as I know.

It's not in this thread, but another... it's the wheelers thread I think, as I recall someone measured the spring on a machine and got 610lb.

Can't put OME springs on 6112's. The spring perch isn't notched on the 6112's so there's no way they would fit.

@Mountain and @Crom are both correct. Spring rate is 610lbs on the 6112's. I believe Wheeler's will bundle the struts with a 650 or 700lb Eibach spring for an additional cost.

Just talked to Bilstein tech support, Bryan 1-858-386-5900 at the Poway site. He let me know the 6112's are still not "approved" on the 16, something to do with the tophat and mounting, noise issue, Not sure if anyone is seeing or hearing this, but if they are right about where the noise is sourced I would suspect that it is because they do not offer this hardware as part of the package, you must re-use your take off hardware or buy replacements from wheelers or someplace else. Other than that they do have a new 5100 for the 2016 that is soon to be released.....not sure about what enhancements, integration, part numbers or pricing.

I think the coil-over (6112 is a questionable even tough and acceptable mid range solution for coil overs, more than likely made to fill the void before the BP-51 and soon to be EOS as they ramp up marketing and incentives on the BP-51), I think I got the part number right, looks like a nice package but they threw themselves into the high end performance category as far as pricing goes with this package at $3k w/o a UCA or AAL option in that price.

There is a dedicated TW contact named Shawn whom I guess you can reach at the same 858 number, supposedly more up on the marketing strategy, pricing, issues, compatibility etc...

I really would like to give the 6112 a shot since I have shied away from the BOSS and OME options. Hell for what it is worth Icon, FOX and King have really priced a lot of motivated buyers out of their space, especially in the coil overs and UCA's realm.

Regardless I would still like to see and hear back from and 2016 TRDOR DCSb 4x owners who have gone the 6112/5160 route....so far all has been good feedback but very minimal 16 owners. I don't think the 6112's - 2016 combo is a bad thing just need some acceleration at Bilstein to source the issue if there is one and give it the green, with options.

@Sandtaco is who you're going to want to talk to. He's running 6112/5160 on his 2016. He helped me out when I was having suspension questions so I'm sure he can answer what you may be wondering.

Just finished the 5160 ext travel on my 16 trd sport ac and what a difference! Hated the way my truck rode stock. Front 6112 was first since i figured it would be most noticable and i did those 2000 miles ago at 7500. Installed on bottom setting mostly for comfort at first with plans to move up when i do uca.

Completely changed the feel of the truck, soaks up bumps incredibly well, feels like they were engineered to work together (they were). The stock sport spring and hitachi shocks felt like a hacked civic suspension. Big heavy springs on cheap shocks left for a bouncy ride. I do notice truck has a hair more lean than before in corners. May be partially due to sway bar bracket which was unnecessary but installed just because i bought it.

Now the rear shocks i just finished an hour ago surprisingly feel perfectly matched to the front. Im surprised because again, the rear felt springy and quite bouncy unloaded and was doubtful for same results as the front with the same stock spring packs.

Overall lift is negligable, didnt even do an alignment or adjust headlights because i think the front was up maybe .75" and doing the rears looks like it returned a bit of rake.

Im new here and new to lifted trucks but many years of being a sports car nut, autocross enthusiast, and general gearhead taught me the requirements of strut/spring combo are less complicated than many people think. Why wouldnt these work on a 3rd gen? Weight is similar which is most important change there could have been. Most other parts are the same (suspension parts and mounts). Maybe they will develop a random symptom at a random speed like so much else on a 3rd gen(sarcasm) but i seriously doubt it

    Edit:whole page without pics. Worthless.

So for the rear, the only thing you added was the 5160's and that took care of the harsh bouncyness of the stock ride quality?

I'm in the same situation you were in. I've got the 6112's installed in the front which are super smooth, and nothing changed in the rear as of yet. If I can swap out the stock rear struts for the 5160's and that dampen up the rear suspension so that it feels as plush as the 6112's then I'll be doing that ASAP.

The only thing i did was the rear 5160. Im almost hesitant of the next stage i was planning which was icon aal and spc uca and moving to middle setting on 6112 because it is so smooth.

Highly recommend grabbing the 5160 and tossing them on. Actually pretty easy job done at home too with very basic tools. 17mm lower shock bolt and 14mm upper nut, vice grips and that was about it.

I'm at the #3 setting with at 3/8" spacer on the driver's side.

How did the 3/8 spacer work out for you? I had to redo mine (long story) with new isolators and top hats. I tried to order the 3/8" and longer studs but the shipping time didn't work out. Everything seems to be in order now and the driver side now sits up a little higher. Also, for the time being I'm back closer to 2" (just under) of lift on 3rd setting. Maybe the new isolators are fluffier and they will also compress some over time, not real sure. After the alignment I got some pretty serious popping going on at starts and stops. Most likely from lca bushings I am told. Not doing anything with that for the time being though.

It worked out okay. I wasn't able to thread the top hat nuts down as far as I would have liked, but I don't think I'll ever have any issues.

One thing I have noticed, though, is that my UCA's contact the coil on the driver's side, but not on the passenger's side. I suspect that's due to the spacer forcing the driver's side down more at full droop. I'm keeping an eye on it.

I believed it was mentioned earlier, the consensus was to get the optional heavier spring. 650/700lb. If you had both than 700lb for sure.
Loving these shocks more and more. Bilstein did their homework designing these for our trucks. Cant imagine it any better without going full LT

quick question. I want to go with a 2-2.5" lift. Light offroading mostly street. I have a 1.5" aal to install in the rear. What notch should I set these on without having to replace the UCAs. The other lift I was considering is the ome 885 and 5100s set at 0. Prerunner double cab.

#3 will get you around 1.75-2".

#4 will get you around the 2.5" but it'll be a gamble on UCA's I'd think.

Edit: Just saw you have a PreRunner. You'll probably want to go with the #3 middle setting.

thanks. That's what i figured. Last question... I have the trd sport and it has 5160s in the rear that run good still. Any need to replace those yet? I have an aal going in to lift the back.

Are you sure you have 5160's? Silver struts with remote reservoirs? Most TRD Sports come with Bilstein 4600's that are blue/yellow.
