I have Dakars with the top OL taken out. No real issues with them.

I was thinking about just getting some JBAs and installing while I do everything else. At 1 or 1.5” though I’m thinking I’m fine without them. I just think about the TRD PRO that’s lifted 1” and I think uses the same UCAs as our ORs. And if Toyota didn’t find them necessary...

Yes, I do. :D Levi apparently has the only shop press capable to take care of 6112s.

We put JBA UCAs on a year after my lift went in. If I could have, I would have done it all at the same time. So much easier to get in there.
If you can swing the $, do it once and be done.
Yes, the stock UCAs will probably be okay, but the JBAs are so much better and will give you exactly what a lifted truck will need.
Once you see the JBAs next to OEM you will know why it is a good idea. :D

Does he have a spring compressor in case I wanted to switch notches? Also.. out of curiosity is it ok to run JBAs if I only level or go 1.5”? Can you run them stock suspension as well?

I believe that he does, the tough thing is that it is going to take about a week for the springs to settle to their normal riding height. The 4/5 notch will give you 2.15" after settling, the 3/5 notch will give you about 1.85" after settling. The JBA's can be run stock suspension or aftermarket lift. It gives you more articulation overall and a 3° caster.

Thanks Jared. I think you’re right on the second gen trucks/6112s but in the third gens 4/5th notch gives 1.5”.

Has anyone kept the rear stock and just leveled the front a bit for a little more tire clearance and a nice suspension upgrade with 6112/5160? Would love to see pics if someone has. I think it would be the 1/2 or 2/3 notch

Toyota didn’t find it necessary to redo the needle bearing and look how that worked out.

Do the pros suffer from needle bearing issues? Stock, of course...
