A lot do, but there is the potential of having the issue that @roguegs had where he had his UCA hitting a spring

Went from 3rd Gen Taco to 3GT4R to 2nd Gen Taco and finally a V8 4GT4R.
Soooo...I think it might be my balljoints in the OEM UCA or LCA bolts not being torqued correctly because I still have the clicking sound but now they are coming from both sides. Might be maxing out my UCAs and putting way too much stress on the ball joint

Santa came today! Prob a dumb question but both have a little of this grit in the paint/silver coating near the weld in the center of my close up pic. The other shock has a little but this one has a lot more of it. Is it harmless I assume? Not even sure what it is. Otherwise, I’m pumped!

Bilstein didn’t design the 3rd gen 6112s to be run with a spacer. The offset recommendation of going 6/5 or 5/4...etc is due to testing by their engineers. Plus if I’m not mistaking if you don’t follow their recommendations on their settings you void their lifetime warranty.

Once your front end settles, I’m sure your going to have to rethink the spacer deal.

I still have yet to hear anyone complain about 6/5 setting and go down. I’m on 6/5 and it rides better then stock trd or shocks. If that doesn’t say something idk what does because those Bilsteins were so mushy.

People keep trying to make these as bigger 5100s. They are not. They have linear springs and are valved completely different.

    Wow! Really.
I asked Marie about that and she said do the spacer. Maybe she doesn't know about the details from Bilstein.
Do you happen to have a link? Thanks. :hattip:

I asked Marie the same recently and she said you could do both and that people do either/or. Said it didn’t really matter. The only place I have seen Bilstein say anything is in the instructions.. they recommend staggering the positions so I figured mind as well do what the company says to do.

Someone should email Bilstein about it. I emailed them the other day about something else and they responded same-day

    Here is Bilsteins website
    https://www.bilstein.com/us/en/technology-and-knowledge/warranty/

Clearly stated it should not be modified, which a spacer clearly is.

The cool thing about headstrong and Marie is I’m sure if a warranty issue comes up they will help you. I enjoy purchasing stuff from them, plus it’s only 10 mins from the house.

But if you purchase it outside HS I definitely would not do the spacer

Has anyone used the 2/3 or 3/4 notches on third gen 6112s (and third gen taco) and what lift have they settled at? If one wanted to be just below level or even level... are the 2/3 or 3/4 the way to go when combined with no rear lift with 5160s?

Hey guys- when changing height notches, do you need to make marks to line everything back up again when reassembling? So that the top mounts line up a certain way to the bottom of the strut to where it attaches? Or does everything fall into place?

These will be changed directly as set from Headstrong that shipped them to me. Just changed my mind on the height setting. Never installed on truck. Not sure if that matters, but I'll mark it all.
