Guys, I just ordered the adjustable 5100 and they should be here in 2 or 3 weeks. But once again I need some advices from the smart people of Tacomaworld. I have a question; What is the best way to get 1 inch or 1.5 inch of lift from the 5100 without sacrifice to much ride confort? I don't want them to be too stiff!

88DBB232-0EFA-4A82-B802-7D7B8CA2F64E.jpg I would set them at 1.75 and call it done. Mine are set at 1.75 with 1/4” top plate spacers on both sides to bump it up a little past 2” of lift and in my opinion the truck rides very comparable to stock.

My truck is lifted 4 inches with Maxtrac. I'm just looking for 1 or 2 inches more, but I'm afraid that setting the 5100 to 1.75 will stiff the suspension too much. I've seen some people saying that around here, I don't know, I never had Bilsteins before. How do you feel the suspension when going over a bump?

I dont know anything about Maxtrac lifts, but mine rides great at 1.75" with a 2" single AAL in the rear. I cant compare to stock, cause by the time I got the truck, the stockers were shot. In my experience the best thing I did as far as ride quality was to go from load range D to SL tires as far as soaking up the bumps.

Good point, mine is a SR5, so I think my spings are softer than a TRD.

On my Sport, have my 5100’s set at 2.5” and the ride isn’t harsh at all, even on my e-rated tires. :) Coming from a former Acura TL owner lol.

Awesome! You are the second person recommending the 1.75 set. My tires load is E.

It rides great in my opinion and is not stiff at all. A bump is still a bump, but what else can you expect with a budget suspension lift. Gotta pay to play man

Maybe I can set the bilsteins to 0 and find some OME coils. But I don't know wish one could give me the lift that I want.

I’d assume the 883s would be what you want, but i have no experience with ome so don’t quote me

Nice! Thanks a lot, man! So, the OME 883 with the 5100 set to 0 should be a better choice than the bilsteins set to 1.75, theoretically!

The OME shocks would be better with the OME coils if you arent going to use the 5100's to gain lift from what I've read here, there's really no advantage to having them.

The OME 883 with bilstein set to 0 will lift the front between 1.25 and 1.5 inch.

I believe the OME shocks are better valved for the OME spring rates I could be wrong. With the 5100 set at 0 is still a good shock, but there is no need for an adjustable shock if you are going to leave it on the bottom setting other than having the option of being able to move it up later.

The price was good! :) $160 the pair brand new! That's why I bought them! That and the option to use them to gain a little bit more of lift. But I want the front suspension to be in the softer side! This is why I asked for the best way to gain a little bit of lift avoiding excessive stiffness.

2006 TRD OR DCSB 4x4. I have 5100's front and rear. Fronts are set at max 2.25" with stock coils, rears are standard length with wheelers 1.5 progressive AAL.

I started at 1.5" in the front and tsb rears. Then moved the front down to .85" after the springs sagged. Was like that for about a year and then moved it back to 1.5" when I got bigger tires and rear air bags. Was like that for a few months and then got bigger tires in load range E and moved the front to 2.25". I didn't like using my air bags for the extra lift so added the AAL. I thought the front was maybe a little stiff but after I think it's perfect. The 5100's are great shocks
