Yeah, my 2000 was the first buy back at my dealer in 2008. They gave us a new RAV as a loaner while they sorted out the process. A few weeks later, when the check came in, we used $10K of the buyback amount for a down payment on a new RAV for my wife. She's on her third one now. We took the remaining $5K and bought my son a used Oldsmobile since he was the one driving the 2000 Taco.

Just be aware that their procedure has changed. After doing thousands and thousands of trucks, they now leave a few things out.

When they did my 03 frame, they also did fuel and brake lines as well as any worn out cracked or corroded grommets/rubbers.

Last I knew, they no longer warranted anything aside from the FRAME ITSELF. And soon afterwards, they did my buddies truck and he had to pay for lines, bushings and new leaf springs. They told him it "wasn't safe to drive" with the old parts and it WOULD NOT leave the dealership unless those other repairs were done.

He ended up handing them almost 3K dollars for "extras"...

I would not be happy if you sold me a shitty frame, and now that it needs to be replaced you're going to get me anyway you can!!

Replacing everything worn, broken, and rusted.
I was wondering if about that. My LCAs look new. Thanks for this info.

Also got new leaf springs and brake lines, though it may be at the prior owners dime.

I heard today is the last day for certain things or frame stuff. Do I want to call my Toyota dealership and drive down just in case???

I mean, I have a desert (Las Vegas) truck that doesn't see too much rain, water, snow or salt, unless I take it to my cabin in Utah, which I do 4-5 times a year. Not to mention it's a 2011.

I do want some new leaf springs, if I'm able to get those.

That's what I thought. So no point going down until we hear more info.

Also, can anyone recommend a good place to sign up for emails and info about Recalls or TSB. I have an account on Toyota, but I'm not sure if that's the only spot or not. If I'm eligible for the leaf packs I'd be stoked. So far the only thing I've had done is the sticker on the door and some other small thing I can't remember.

Thank you so much for the write-up on the bumper support!

I had them pull off the hitch/bumper so I could dissemble/paint and re-assemble and take it back in for when they get the new frame and my support was just as bad!!! Real PITA trying to get the bolts out on my bench too rather than it being on the truck. 2 hours with a breaker bar to get it all apart. Nearly every one of the bolts that thread into the brace broke off or rounded off in the process. Fun fun fun drilling or cutting the heads off.

This diagram had the rest of the part #'s I needed:

Thank you. I'm glad its helped out several fellow TW members! You're right those bolts "build character" as the old men used to say.

I added your image to my post.
