black exhaust pipe and muffler

    The muffler looks like it has overspray on it, the tail pipe just looks like rust/road grime build up..i wouldnt worry

    what's overspray used for? the pipe seems really black for just road grime build up doesn't it? i've never really seen an exhaust pipe like that before

    Looks like the overspray could of been used on the frame prior to you purchasing the truck, kind of like an undercoating or paint..as for the tailpipe, well i dunno..was just a speculation that it could be road grime..you have to remember the tailpipe is behind the tire too

    Overspray is where something was painted but spray from the painting got on something else that was close enough in proximity for paint spray to drift on to it. It can happen when spray painting something when there's a breeze.

    They make black in a rattle can to spray BBQ's. Its good up to 500 degrees I think.

    My tacoma actually came with a black exhaust also. Thought it was odd but didn't care too much because it was shortly switched out for a trd cat back exhaust.

    thanks everyone for the tips. i do plan to swap it out for a trd cat back exhaust eventually, just not right now. maybe next month.

    and my dog (doberman) popped the basketball in the picture
