Black OEM Overlays vs the cheap ones!

Bought a decent looking set from Amazon for about $50. They came in and looked great but were not very flexible. I put one on and you can see from the top the chrome along the edge. Anyhow, cheap double sided tape and I have applied many things with 3m tape and never an issue. Looked like some ruff edges and pure crap if you ask me. So I sent them back for a full refund. So knowing I wasn't going to plastic crap them I broke down and picked up a set from the dealership for $100. Fit, finish, texture and install was perfect. Just saying sometimes if the reviews are good and its half price maybe it is ok but these completely sucked! Hard to beat OEM parts! My rant is over.

 

They have factory overlays? I seen the ones you were talking about.

 

Yes, I got mine from the dealership yesterday. The ones on Amazon sucked, maybe another brand might be ok. I should have stepped up the first time and got the OEM.

 

Yes. I actually purchased some for my fiance's 4Runner. They're still plastic with 3M tape, but will likely last longer.

Your dealer is more honest. The factory blackout kit costs $600 from Gulf States Toyota dealers.

This is the same OEM kit that you can buy on eBay for the $100 to $133 range.

The finish is very nice on this OEM kit.

 

I only buy oem mods on anything I do there is a reason they call it oem Looks & works without any issues FYi

 

my truck had the dealer installed black OEM overlays when I bought it, they look and fit perfect. You get what you pay for.
