    1. Does anyone know if it's possible to remove the chrome Toyota emblem off of the steering wheel to paint it black? They guy on Ebay who has them is sold out.

    2. Has anyone used the high heat grill spray paint to spray a chrome tailpipe tip and do I have to prep the chrome first?

You can remove the emblem but wouldn't it make sense just to use an overlay? They are more durable. I bought a red one to match my truck.

For the steering wheel - use plasti dip.

There's an airbag behind there. You don't want to futz with anything over it. Then it becomes a claymore.

You can remove it. Gently lift around the edges and cut the plastic nubs holding it in place with a razor blade. Scuff, clean, paint and hot glue it back on.

I wanted to remove and paint mine black until I saw a write-up somewhere that showed the chore of taking that emblem off. If I remember correctly, it is glued and required more disassembly than I wanted to tackle, especially around the air bag.

Toyota threatened the mfg's of the identical stick-ons. Not sure if it was because of copyrights or air bag injury lawsuits.

    Here's a plain overlay:

Good gravy. I can’t stand this kind of shit. Seen so many “artistic” cars like this. Hand painted, “save the earth” except the car is blowing smoke and the paint is peeling off into an estuary. One lady I knew was so “defiant”, she would put her registration stickers on upside down. It’s like your not sticking it to anyone, your just dumb. “ I’m a surfer so I wanna protect the oceans,” why do you drive a shitbox pollution maker, and please pick up the bits of you bumper that fell after you shut the door.

Personally, I wouldn't paint the chrome pipe. The Toyota black chrome exhaust tip is in the $65 range at the dealer and I've seen them listed for less on EBAY. Not sure on the prep, but I've never had any luck at all with paint sticking to chrome for very long. Just my two cents.

I painted a chrome one with high temp bbq paint, it’s been looking good for a couple of years.

lots of options on Etsy. You aren't going to find anything from Meso or his dealers as Toyota threw a fit so.....
