I've done some searching but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I am wanting to black out just the chrome part of the grill, not the center logo but the chrome piece that surrounds the grille itself. I'm hoping someone knows where I can purchase one. Thanks in advance!

You can always just take the grill assembly apart and plastidip it. Lots of people, including me, did that

I did the majority of mine (save the logo) but the grill is comprised of 4 parts: the logo, the mesh, the rim, and the large housing. The whole thing can be taken apart fairly easily and broken down so you can do what you want to do.

Problem I'm having with this is the chipping.
I started with Plastidip, but in a few months I had chipping where the chrome was showing through.
Then I stripped all of that off and went with truck bedliner, which lasted longer but is now also chipping.

Anyone else have this issue? And if so, how did you resolve it? That plastic-chrome just doesn't like letting things stick to it, LOL.

You have to scratch the chrome up any to get the plasti dip to stick?

Engine paint works really well. Or just take it for a powder if you really want it.

I wonder if an auto body shop could spray it with black (satin or matte) and then apply a matte clear or something. Can’t be any different than a hood. Those are painted, but they chip also it’s the nature of painting something but it might be more durable.

Or... if you can sand it down to bare plastic maybe. Don’t know if it’s black under the chrome finish???
