I'm going to get my '12 Tacoma and am going to get a Super White Doublecab with the TRD Sport package. The dealer told me that they no longer carry the chrome tube steps and that they only have the black now. I've been searching online for pics, but can't find any. Can someone post a pic? Or would I be better off going aftermarket?

Get N-Fabs, they are probably cheaper than what the dealer is charging you and they look better.

I agree. Decline the $300 OEM tube steps and use that money to buy something else. Just because it's printed on the sticker doesn't mean you have to accept delivery of it.
Also, if you want make sure you get it delivered with decent tires. All that is a lot easier and cheaper to do when you take delivery of a new vehicle. I got a Sport too and I wish I had made them switch out the street tires for the offroad tires that come with the OR package. (Yes, you can do all that)

My wife's 2011 White Double Cab TRD Sport looks great with the black Step Tubes. They bolt right up and are worth the money. They do an excellent job of preventing rock chips on the lower panels. The OEM tires are not all that great. We had them on her truck for about 10,000 miles and they threw sand and gravel like crazy, pitting the Sport wheels. Toyota replaced the wheels and I put on Michelin LTX/MS2's. No more problems. Another "worth the money" option is the OEM bed mat.

Sorry no pics. I'll snap one when the truck is home if you don't get one before.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll wait until tguil posts a pic of his wife's truck, then I'll decide if I want to go OEM or aftermarket.

White truck with black steps are going to look awesome. I saw a few during my time here. Search "Super White" (titles only) and you'll see a few threads folks put up to show theirs off.

Good decision. My wife's 2005 white Tacoma had the silver OEM tubes. The black looks much better. She put 100,000 miles on the 2005. Eight miles of gravel roads daily. They held up great.

Thanks Hemitruk. I'm getting a SB, so your pic sealed the deal for me. I looked at your pic and thought it looked like it was somewhere in Hawaii. Then I looked at your profile and saw that you're here too. Is that somewhere around Kakaako side?

A lot of tube step stores sell on eBay as well. I got mine there a few years back. Including tax and shipping I paid well below $300. Shipping will probably be a bit more for you since you're in Hawaii. They have all sorts of different styles and you can choose between chrome and black. I bought mine on eBay from a seller called Got-Chrome.com. Who knows, with more choices you might find something that you like better.
