So I'm eligible for an upgrade on my Verizon cell phone plan..and I want something a little nicer than my G'Zone I've currently got. I've been looking at Blackberry and the new Droid phone thats out..

Anyone got any opinions on either?

I just upgraded from the Dare to the Moto Droid. By far the best upgrade I've ever made!

I had the Blackberry tour and got the Motorola Droid. I like the droid a lot more than my tour. Only downside to the Droid is the battery life is pretty horrible on the droid.

The Crackberrys battery is pretty bad too.. a couple of my friends have 'em..and stay on em... I'm liking the Droid the more I hear about it. I've just not had good luck w/ Motorola Phones.. poor little Razr couldn't do anything right!

I am already eligible for my Verizon upgrade, and right now I have the Blackberry storm, which is about as useful as a carpet fitter's ladder.

However, I'm waiting until August for the release of the iPhone for Verizon.

If this weren't the case, DROID ftw.

    getting there....
im close to upgrading myself. i have the lg env touch....like the phone, but the battery really, really sucks...and an extended life battery wont fit the phone right...so ima prolly upgrade to the droid or the devour...unless something better with the droid capabilities comes out in the next few weeks.

Love my BB Tour myself. Although I've heard nothing but great things about the Droid. I probably would have gotten one had I wanted a touchscreen phone, but I hate them regardless of if they have a physical keyboard or not. I'd definitely pick a Droid over an iphone though.

I dont have the best service at my house and the tour at least lasted all day and I text a lot, I mean A LOT, and I pulled the droid off the charger at 9am and it went back on the charger at 6pm, and I barely texted today. The touch screen aspect takes a lot of battery. I also have brightness all the way down, and location off. Other than the battery I really do love this phone.

I have a blackberry storm. I like it well enough, and it has been a very solid performing smart phone. That said, the droid simply leapfrogs the blackberry, and the apps as far as I can tell with several co-worker's phones, seem to work much better, and have better choices. I give my vote to the droid. it will be what I upgrade to when my contract comes up.for renewal.
