Blacked Out Dash Chrome

Installed mine today. What a pain in the ass but it does make a night and day difference. Mine are not perfect but I can live with it until my OCD kicks in and I just pull it apart and paint them all.

 

Bump! is anyone still selling overlays for the tacoma steering wheel emblem? I NEED IT BAD! got chips throughout on my 08' doublecab and dont really wanna mess with the airbag @rrentrop

 

It doesn't look like a current option from him. Maybe a special request?

 

Overlay was on Etsy I think. IIRC member @JimmyRigged88 made and sold them.

I tried installing the vinyl vent rings and it was damn hard to get it perfect. I gave up after a couple tries...

 

@rrentrop - do you have a kit that is only the vent rings? Are there any other dark matte colors other than black, like a dark gray?

 

I just created a new option on the listing for just the vent rings.

not Meso climate rings unfortunately. Got them a few months ago from someone else but Meso’s will be coming out soon. They are red

 

I still need to get up the courage to install the vent rings overlays. It's only been four months...

 

I hear you there. I ruined the spares.

I did the left three with the dash parts out of the truck. The right one was done in place. Thankfully the four came out nice and has been great for the last two years.

Every once in a while, I think about taking the vents apart and painting the chrome, since paint held up well on the 4wd knob and shift boot collar. Then, I just think, why? Esp as the vinyls are working great.

 

Don't worry if you jack it up. Replacements are always free!
