At one point, I saw this great write up about blacking out tail lights. Now I can't seem to find it anywhere. Can anyone help?

Awesome, thanks for the help. Think the same steps could be applied to the third brake light?

While I'm not trying to be Officer Buzzkillington, make sure this is legal in your state before doing so. It can result in fix it tickets or even an at-fault accident in which your insurance won't cover you if the other party says they couldn't see your brake lights because of the tint. Just sayin...

    Carry on.

Someone needs to bring the voice of reason.... or he'll get a fix it ticket and be on here wanting to borrow some lights to get his ticket signed off or complaining because he was rear-ended.

If I ever rear ended someone with tinted tails, I would sue the shit out of them.

There's some logic there. I think it looks great and would do it myself but I don't want to give a cop another reason to pull me over. Not saying I have anything to hide but I've been pulled over on a few Friday and Saturday nights for trivial stuff. I attribute it to driving a typical teenager vehicle with rims, oversize tires, tinted windows, and stickers all over the back window. Tinted tail lights are just one more reason to pull me over.

Actually the rule is you have to be able to see all lights 500ft away in the sunlight, which i actually can with my truck. I took a roll meter and counted 500 ft while my buddy pressed the gas and turn signals, if i ever get a ticket i can argue it in court. I have a light meter, going to try some stock ones vs my tinted ones, see what the difference is.
