    I did this mod about 7 years ago when I first got my Tacoma. I got in a wreck a few years ago and am just getting around to doing it again. It's so easy the second time.

    #1 advice I can give all of you is to WAIT WAIT WAIT for the paint to dry. Just be patient. Once you can get over the fear of "Oh my God, I have to put it in the OVEN", everything will be fine.

    has anyone ever done this on a silver 05-11 and painted the frame silver to match?

    will be doing this very soon (have a second pair of lights with broken mount tabs that I'm pulling apart to use and paint before I tear into the ones on my truck) and am just curious how it would look as apposed to just painting them black

    I am sure they have superbleeder. I have seen white, blue, and red. A search for "color match headlight mod" may yield some pics. I am sure it would look as kick ass as the others. I did the BHLM on my white 12 taco. LOVE it.

    that's the thing; I've searched various ways and come up with nothing but black, blue, red, and white paint matches, just as you mentioned :rolleyes:

    since I'm working with two sets, I may just paint one set silver and one set black and set them together on the truck and see what it looks like; already have the black paint so I'd just have to get some silver

    would be interesting to see what it would look like at least though, since I don't see where anyone's posted any pics of it done yet

    Brought my headlights home today that I bought with the broken mount tabs. Lenses on them look BRAND FREAK'N NEW! So that'll be a huge upgrade in it's own compared to the ones on the truck now, lol.

    Let the fun begin! :D

    Has anyone ever tried to install some LED strips along the inside of bottom of the light for an Audi style headlight look?

    Just blurting out ideas :D

    I've see it done on some other cars and trucks and it just turns out stupid looking, but I think that's because of the general shape of the headlights that it was done too. The Tacoma's headlight shares the same basic shape along the bottom; that is, flat and horizontal on the inside by the gill, then dipping down into a curve as it goes to the outside.
